$12B Tampa packaging and can business makes leadership changes
Crown Holdings, a publicly traded packing product and aluminum beverage can manufacturer based in Tampa, has announced several leadership changes. The changes, according to a statement, include:Djalma Novaes, the president of the company’s Americas Division, was promoted to executive vice president and COO, effective July 1.
Djalma Novaes, the president of the company’s Americas Division, was promoted to executive vice president and COO, effective July 1. Novaes will oversee the company’s Americas and European Divisions. He will also assume responsibility for global sourcing and the company’s can manufacturing equipment business, CMB Engineering, according to a statement.
Gerard Gifford, who has served as executive vice president and COO since 2017 and has been with the company since 1983, will transition to the role of executive vice president and chief administrative officer. He will serve in this capacity until his planned retirement in early 2026, the company says.
Gary Gavin, currently president of the company’s North American beverage can business, was promoted to president of the Crown Americas Division, effective July 1. Gavin will report to Novaes, according to the statement, and will continue to be based in Tampa. In his new role, Gavin will oversee Crown’s beverage can operations in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and North America, as well as its North American tinplate businesses, including food and aerosol cans and metal closures
Founded in 1892, Crown has 189 plants in 39 countries, according to its website. It had $11.8 billion in revenue in 2024, down slightly from $12.01 billion in 2023.
