Zhen Liang Ou, Aigin Zheng, and Ting Ting Chen were charged with second-degree felony promoting prostitution.
Grace Spa and TRU Acupressure in Alabaster were two of the businesses searched. Investigators say they determined the businesses were being used as a means of illegal prostitution.
On Monday night, June 9, the Alabaster City Council voted to revoke the business licenses for both Grace Spa and TRU Acupressure.
Lt. Clayton Smith, a Commander with the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force, was at the meeting to provide more details.
“Just telling the city council a brief overview of our investigation, the things that we know as evidence that we can present to the council to let them know that we don’t want those types of businesses in Shelby County. I’m glad the city of Alabaster agreed they don’t want these businesses either.”
TRU Acupressure’s owner and a lawyer representing the business were also at the meeting to fight for the licenses. After they were ultimately unsuccessful in maintaining the license, they did not want to comment after the meeting.
