“Canceled” is ready for its closeup.

A TV show is in post-production that will give celebrities who have lost their jobs amid scandal a chance to defend themselves.

The show’s creator Matt Karol told me, “We have a lot of interest from people who want to go public and explain what happened.”

Chris Hansen, who appears in the pilot, hosted “To Catch a Predator” on “Dateline NBC,” where his team exposed child predators who were then arrested. But NBC canceled the show after a Texas prosecutor committed suicide when Hansen’s team exposed him.

“This was a bad guy. He had child porn on his computer, and was caught in a sting,” Hansen said.

“NBC decided the show had run its course — but it kept going.”

Hansen, who has won eight Emmy Awards, co-founded the true crime-oriented streaming service TruBlu in 2020, where he produced and starred in the web series “Takedown with Chris Hansen.”

Karol is hoping to land Roseanne Barr, J.K. Rowling and Louis CK on future episodes.

Leigh Bardugo has a tattoo in the right wrist, her writing hand, that says “NC.”

It stands for “noncompliant,” and refers to the women in “Bitch Planet” a comic book about a dystopian reality where non-compliant women are sent to an off-planet prison.

Bardugo’s own books, with more than 20 million copies in print in 100 countries and almost 50 languages, span the “Shadow and Bone” trilogy, the “Six of Crows” duology and the “King of Scars” duology.

The prolific author will be at Sag Harbor Books this Sunday (7/13) at 5 p.m. signing copies of the paperback of “The Familiar.”

Devorah Rose, the editor-in-chief of Social Life Magazine, gave Bardugo a Goth dinner Friday night at her Hamptons home in honor of the 10th anniversary of her most famous book, “Six of Crows.”

Bardugo is still aglow from an appearance in Miami where she sang “Gloria” and “Wild Thing” with Stephen King and the Rock Bottom Remainders.

“It was a complete blur, the kind of moment you never imagine,” she told me.

Though she claims “I don’t sing well,” Bardugo was lead vocalist in the band Captain Automatic almost 20 years ago.

The author also is an actress, having appeared in the third episode of Netflix’s adaptation of her “Shadow and Bone” series.

“I definitely chose the right career,” she said. “I had no idea how hard it is acting, doing take after take. I had to make sure I didn’t cry and mess up my makeup.”

Bardugo will be at Barnes & Noble on Union Square on Aug. 25 signing copies of “The Invisible Parade,” which she described as “‘The Wizard of Oz’ in a graveyard.”

“I love meeting my readers,” she said, still surprised how many fans get tattoos referencing her work. “To me it’s a tremendous honor.”

The Southampton African American Museum might seem out of place. But there used to be a thriving Black community there.

The building on North Sea Road that houses the museum used to be a barbershop where Black men gathered from the 1940s until its closing.

The museum has been under development in fits and starts for over 20 years. On Sunday July 20, Jean Shafiroff is helping throw a benefit luncheon where Novi Brown of BET’s “Sistas” will be honored.

Tickets are $175.

“We have to work hard to raise money,” Shafiroff said. “But the town is very much behind this.”

Tiger Woods left his 27-year partnership with Nike last year to launch golf apparel brand Sun Day Red, named after Woods’ tradition of wearing red polos and black pants on the Sunday of a PGA Tour event.

But Woods wasn’t the first professional golfer to wear a red polo on a Sunday.

In the latest issue of Joan Jedell’s Hampton Sheet, 85-year old PGA Tour legend Lee Trevino told the magazine’s youngest contributor, Bobby Love:

“I started wearing a red shirt and black pants during the U.S. Open at Oak Hill in 1968. I wanted strong colors for the final round because I was one stroke behind. I called them my “payday” colors because you get paid for the tournament on Sunday.

“For years, I wore red and black. Then Curtis Strange started doing that. When Tiger Woods started doing it, he got all of the credit — but he didn’t start the red and black. That was my idea way back when.”

Lee Trevino is set to appear in “Happy Gilmore 2,” which will be released on Netflix on July 25.

Pope Leo XIV is the subject of sculptor Yasser Makhoul’s new lifesize statue that will be unveiled at Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral in Brooklyn this September.

The artist said, “The moment Pope Leo came on the TV screen, I visualized him in my head as a very special piece of art that should be created.” The artist also has pieces of Saint Charbel and Saint Rafka at the Brooklyn church.

The versatile artist just delivered a sculpture of a client’s two golden labradors.
