Hannibal business owners reap benefits of BBQ festival
Country fans in Northeast Missouri have flocked to Hannibal for the annual barbecue festival. Feeding those fans are numerous small businesses. Vendors said the festival is a great way for the community to get behind small business. The festival will continue on Saturday in Hannibal, Missouri.
Country fans in Northeast Missouri have flocked to Hannibal for the annual barbecue festival. Feeding those fans are numerous small businesses.
“It brings out a lot of people. It just gives the community a way to get out and have some good fun,” said Cynthia Williams, owner of Big Bro’s Barbecue.
The vendors said the festival is a great way for the community get behind small businesses.
“If you’re really invested in your community, then as a small business, you will try to pour into them as they pour out to you,” Williams added.
Other vendors explained organizers of similar events should look inwards for their vendors as opposed to outside of the community.
“Go look for your small businesses. If you know someone that knows how to barbecue really good bring them in or nachos or anything or drinks. It’s really important,” said Christine Brown, owner of Cuzo’s Restaurant.
The festival will continue on Saturday.
