Home Town star Erin Napier shared photos from her recent trip to the UK. She included several “thoughts after international travel” in the caption to her post. Her post was met with nearly 700 comments from fans who were quick to point out the many things the U.S. is lacking compared to UK. Napier and her family also received plenty of praise from those proud of them for taking the time out to see the world.
“is there a reason they don’t have ranch in the UK? i mean, have they tasted it?” Napier asked.
She also added that she wished “we had no dyes in our food like the UK” and had hoped that “laundry soap worked better” in the UK.
The HGTV personality’s post was met with nearly 700 comments from fans who were quick to point out the many things the US is lacking compared to the UK.
“I wish we had universal healthcare, paid family leave, free period products, strong unions, abortion rights, anti-fascist leaders and so much more that Scotland has, that we don’t. It’s almost as if their government cares about its people there,” one person wrote.
“I know they don’t have to declare bankruptcy if they can’t pay their medical bills,” another user added.
Napier and her family also received plenty of praise from those proud of them for taking the time out to see the world and expose themselves to other cultures.
“You were all absolutely wonderful guests and are welcome back any time. Having travelled a lot in the US ourselves and having read the comments, I think the lesson is that travel is a really good thing! It broadens the mind, we pick up new ideas and new perspectives from other people but also learn to appreciate our own countries better as well,” read another message.
