Samsung hasn’t upgraded the battery size or charging speed of its Galaxy S Ultra flagship since 2020’s Galaxy S20 Ultra, but it seems the Galaxy S26 Ultra is finally about to change that with a 5,500 mAh battery and 65W charging speeds, though leakers disagree on the matter.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra introduced Samsung’s high-end flagship, and also the company’s biggest battery. At the time, the 5,000 mAh battery and its 45W fast charging were impressive specs, but Samsung has leaned on that headstart for a long time. Each subsequent generation has featured the same battery and charging specs, all the way up to this year’s Galaxy S25 Ultra.

It was reported earlier this week that Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra would introduce a long-overdue charging speed upgrade, and now we’re also getting word on a battery improvement too.

Leaker @chunvn8888 says that Samsung will equip the Galaxy S26 Ultra with a 5,500 mAh battery and 65W fast charging. In other words, a 10% boost to battery capacity and a 45%~ increase to charging speed. Not bad at all, especially considering the same source says that this is all while the phone is getting a bit thinner.

But, things still seem a bit murky.

While this leaker has a solid track record, @UniverseIce, another reliable Samsung leaker, claims that the Galaxy S26 Ultra only has a 5,000 mAh battery. These two disagree, but it sounds like we’re getting improvements either way. While a battery boost and a charging speed increase would be the best outcome for customers, it would be very unsurprising if Samsung ended up sticking with the same battery size in favor of faster charging.
