The Election Commission Thursday said “99%” of the 7.89 crore registered electors of Bihar had been “covered” during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls and less than 7 lakh forms were yet to be received, with one day to go for the deadline to submit forms.
According to the EC’s June 24 order, all existing electors were required to submit enumeration forms by Friday, July 25, in order to remain on the draft electoral roll to be published on August 1. All those who were added to the rolls after January 1, 2003, when the EC says the last intensive revision was done, were additionally required to submit documents establishing their eligibility.
