Register for Free Senior Health Classes at Southeast Branch Library at the Arlington Public Library. Registration is required and space is limited. The series will cover health topics important to our community: osteoporosis, heart health, physical activity, and nutrition. Participation in activities is optional, and all ages are welcome. Taking care of our health is important no matter our age. In August and September, the Arlington Public Library will join with Tarrant County Public Health Department to offer a free, four-part Senior Health Series at the Southeast Branch Library. This series will cover health topics important to our community: osteoporosis, heart health, physical activity, and nutrition. Registration is required and space is limited.
Osteoporosis
Time: 2 p.m.

About this class: This class is intended for those at risk for developing this major health problem. Learn the symptoms and risk factors for bone loss, and things you can do to delay or prevent it from developing.

Move & Groove
Time: 2 p.m.

About this class: This class provides fun, creative ways to incorporate more physical activity and exercise into your day and the many physical and mental health benefits. Also, provides the components of a balanced exercise program and examples of each. Participation in activities is optional, and all ages are welcome.

Heart Health Awareness

Location: Southeast Branch Library Community Room, 900 SE Green Oaks Blvd.
About this class: This class provides the factors and conditions that affect the heart, such as blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, tobacco use and more. Also provides important information related to heart attack, cardiac arrest and stroke. This session will include Blood Pressure Screenings.

About this class: Can you look at a Nutrition Facts label and know if you are getting too much fat, sodium, or sugar from the pre-packaged foods that you eat? If not, this class is perfect for you. This class will review how to read a Nutrition Facts label to help with food choices, portion control and chronic disease prevention and management.
