University of New Mexico conducting ‘staged, tactical evacuation’ of campus

The University of New Mexico continues to shelter in place as police investigate a fatal shooting on campus. UNM Officials say the campus is still closed and an active crime scene. UNM Police are conducting a staged, tactical evacuation and advise those on campus to not move locations without direction from UNM Police. In an update to parents obtained by Action 7 News, UNM officials are taking students to the Yale Parking Structure. Students who are needing pick up will at the Yale parking facility until their ride has arrived, according to the communication obtained. University officials say in the correspondence that students who drove on their own will be escorted to the Yale parking structure to leave campus. Students will be checked out of residence halls and shuttled to the parking structure.
