FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Floating atop Shaver Lake, Yosemite, and Bass Lake, you can find a community of paddleboarders brought together by Golden Light Paddle.
“We’ll just meet at a location and we’ll have rentals available,” says owner and founder, Staci Dickman. “If you have your own board, you can come out for free. It’s a great way to meet people in the community that love to paddleboard. You can bring a kayak if you want to.”
Dickman launched the business when she moved to the Central Valley.
“I love being outside, so it was kind of a way to meet new people and now, we’re here three years later and it’s flourished into something so big and amazing,” she said.
Our interview took place at Sycamore Island along the San Joaquin River in Madera County, a hub for Golden Light Paddle sessions.
Once Staci taught me the basics of balancing on the board, we got our yoga session started.
“I give people free time to explore and get inspired by other people,” she said.
Gathering’s aren’t just for yoga. In addition to private parties, sound baths and team building experiences are available. You can also book classes closer to home.
“So if you want a floating yoga or sound bath in your backyard, we’ll come to your home, you’ll anchor up in the pool, float in the pool and that’s a great way for people to get started,” Dickman said.
The sense of accomplishment will have you looking for the next Golden Light adventure.
