Pokemon Go events schedule for July 2025: All current and upcoming events
A huge event schedule is underway for Pokemon Go in July 2025. We’ve compiled a full list of dates from Community Days to Spotlight Hours. There are also exciting celebrations like the 9th Anniversary Party and Summer Concert events. In addition to the monthly Community Days and weekly Spotlight Hours, there are always themed events that celebrate everything from Halloween to the release of new mainline games like Scarlet & Violet. Below, you’ll find information on every major event happening this month in Pokemon Go, and details on its Spotlight hours, Community Days, and any Research Breakthroughs. Niantic’s game celebrated its 9th anniversary on July 1, with a party packed with bonuses and rare spawns. There were also festive versions of Ivysaur and Venusaur, as well as Shiny Gimmighighs and Shiny Jirachi. The event included double XP and special bonuses for catching Shiny Pikachu and Eevee, and increased XP and Stardust rates for catching and catching Shiny Eevees.
Despite launching on mobile devices over eight years ago, Pokemon Go still has a massive community of players worldwide who log in every day to catch ’em all and battle with friends. A big reason is the events that Niantic hosts in the game.

Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales (July 22 – July 27)

Kalos’ fan-favorite Honedge makes its long-awaited debut alongside its evolutions – Doublade and Aegislash – during the Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales event, which will run from July 22, 2025, until July 27, 2025.

Rookidee will debut its Shiny variation. Plus, players will have increased chances of finding Shiny Bagon and Shiny Beldum. The event will also feature Raid rotations, special bonuses, Research tasks, and Collection Challenges.
Dynamax Latias and Dynamax Latios Max Battle Weekend (July 26 – July 27)

Latias and Latios make their Dynamax debut in 5-Star Max Battles from July 26, 2025, to July 27, 2025, with a chance to encounter them in their Shiny forms!
Event perks include faster Max Particle farming, a free Timed Research with Dynamax Gastly, and discounted Max Move upgrades starting July 21. Trainers can also grab the Eon Ultra Box for extra items to power up their new Dynamax Legendaries.

Adventure Week (July 29 – August 3)

This year’s Adventure Week will run from July 29, 2025, up until August 3, 2025, and will include the debuts of Toedscool and Toedscruel.
The event will also debut Shiny Wiglett and Shiny Wugtrio, plus different Pokemon spawning based on your biome. Additionally, players will have the chance to complete themed Field Research, free Timed Research, and a premium quest featuring special creatures.

Gigantamax Butterfree Max Battle Day (August 3)

Gigantamax Butterfree – and its Shiny variant – will make their Pokemon Go debut by taking over 6-Star Max Battles on August 3, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM.

During those three hours, Power Spots will refresh faster and drop extra Max Particles, while Remote Raid Pass limits get a temporary boost for Max Raiding mayhem. The event will include an event ticket, Timed Research, and a special encounter with Dynamax Darumaka!

Niantic’s game celebrated its 9th Anniversary from July 1, 2025, until July 6, 2025, with a party-themed event packed with bonuses and rare spawns.

Players were able to encounter Shiny Pikachu and Eevee in special hats, enjoy the debut of Shiny Gimmighoul with a 9th anniversary coin, as well as festive versions of Ivysaur and Venusaur. Additionally, a Masterwork Research brought back Shiny Jirachi.

The event bonuses included half Egg hatch distance, double XP and Stardust for catching Pokemon, and increased Shiny rates. There were also special Raids, Golden PokeStops, new wild encounters, and avatar items to mark the occasion.

Community Day Classic (July 5 – July 6)

The July 2025 Community Day Classic was a two-day celebration, as it focused on the beloved Eevee and all its evolutions.
The event ran from July 5, 2025, until July 6, 2025, celebrating the Evolution Pokemon with boosted wild spawns and a coveted chance to catch a Shiny. Plus, useful bonuses and Research tasks.
Those who caught, hatched, or evolved an Eevee got an exclusive Charged Move tied to the creature – Scald for Vaporeon, Zap Cannon for Jolteon, Superpower for Flareon, and so on. Trainers could also purchase a ticket for bonus encounters, Rare Candy XL, and more.

Ultra Unlock: Hisui Celebration (July 8 – July 13)

Pokemon Go’s Ultra Unlock: Hisui Celebration event brought time-warping chaos from July 8, 2025, until July 13, 2025, as space-time distortions unleashed rare Hisuian creatures into the wild.

Hisuian Zorua and its evolution, Hisuian Zoroark, made their debuts. Plus, players were able to enjoy x4 XP and Stardust bonuses, boosted spawns of regional forms like Hisuian Voltorb and Qwilfish, and plenty of Raid rotations.
Hisuian Lilligant Raid Day (July 12)

Hisuian Lilligant debuted in Pokemon Go with a special Raid Day on July 12, 2025. The event took place from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM local time, and bloomed promisingly!

During those three hours, trainers enjoyed boosted Shiny odds, up to six free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs, and a special event ticket with extra bonuses for those who purchased it in the in-game shop.
Water Festival (July 15 – July 20)

Pokemon Go’s annual Water Festival came back from July 15, 2025, until July 20, 2025, and this year it packed a regional twist.
The Dragon/Water-type Pokémon Tatsugiri finally made its debut, but with a catch! Players were only able to get specific forms based on their region, as these appeared in Tier 1 Raids worldwide.

The festival also featured event-themed wild spawns, boosted Shiny rates, bonuses, and Research tasks.
Gigantamax Lapras Max Battle Day (July 19)

Gigantamax Lapras made a splash in Pokemon Go on Saturday, July 19, 2025, with a three-hour Max Battle Day.
Trainers took on the titan up to 20 times remotely, enjoyed boosted Max Particles, faster Power Spot refreshes, and more! Plus, a shot at Gigantamax Lapras’ Shiny form.
Ahead of the Raid, a free Timed Research offered a Dynamax Passimian encounter, the ideal creature to challenge the Transport Pokemon.

Summer Concert (July 19 – July 22)

Pokemon Go’s Summer Concert hit the stage from July 19, 2025, until July 22, 2025, with a special soundtrack curated by Junichi Masuda.
During the event, Lure Modules lasted for an hour and attracted Pokemon like Jigglypuff, Chatot, Audino, Noibat, and more – all with Shiny potential. Players were also able to complete a Field Research for encounters with Spinda, though the heart-pattern didn’t appear.
Community Day (July 20)

July’s Community Day took place on July 20, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM local time, and featured Paldea’s Water-type starter, Quaxly.

The Duckling Pokemon appeared in the wild more often, and players had the chance to find a Shiny Quaxly. Moreover, evolving Quaxwell into Quaquaval during the event unlocked new, powerful Charged Moves.
The Community Day included a Special Research ticket offering bonus Quaxly encounters, a Premium Battle Pass, Rare Candy XL, and delight-themed backgrounds.
Pokemon Go July 2025 Spotlight Hours
There are five Spotlight Hours to look forward to in Pokemon Go this month, which we’ve listed below:
