Bruce Pearl calls out Obama ‘for creating this mess’ in Gaza: ‘You gave billions to Iran and Hamas’
Auburn men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl took to the social media platform X to blast former President Barack Obama over his views on Israeli action in Gaza. Obama posted a New York Times opinion piece by World Central Kitchen founder José Andrés calling for aid to reach Palestinians. Pearl, replying to Obama’s post, blamed Obama’s Middle Eastern policies for the crisis. The current conflict between Israel and Hamas was triggered by the attacks carried out by Hamas and other militant Palestinian groups on Oct. 7, 2023. An estimated 60,000 people have died as a result of the conflict since.
On Sunday, Obama posted a New York Times opinion piece by World Central Kitchen founder José Andrés calling for aid to reach Palestinians in Gaza.
“While a lasting resolution to the crisis in Gaza must involve a return of all hostages and a cessation of Israel’s military operations, these articles underscore the immediate need for action to be taken to prevent the travesty of innocent people dying of preventable starvation.

Obama followed this post up with another, stating: “Aid must be permitted to reach people in Gaza. There is no justification for keeping food and water away from civilian families.”
Pearl, replying to Obama’s post, blaming Obama’s Middle Eastern policies for the crisis.
“You gave billions to Iran and Hamas creating this mess and not one word from you calling for THEM to release the hostages, surrender and end the War! Tell Hamas to 1) Quit stealing and reselling aid 2) Stop attacking GHF workers who are feeding Gazans. 3) Leave and end suffering,” Pearl tweeted.

Obama left office in 2016. The current conflict between Israel and Hamas was triggered by the attacks carried out by Hamas and other militant Palestinian groups on Oct. 7, 2023. In all, 1,195 people were killed and more than 250 people were taken hostage.
An estimated 60,000 people have died as a result of the conflict since, according to The Washington Post.
Pearl has made several comments about the war in Gaza as well as the fate of Israeli hostages. In a June opinion piece, he stated, “I am sometimes challenged for my passionate support for the state of Israel. I will never waver.”
Auburn Coach Bruce Pearl Slams Barack Obama’s Hypocritical Stance On Gaza
Auburn men’s basketball coach, Bruce Pearl, is a strong supporter of Israel. In an interview with OutKick’s Dan Dakich, Pearl called out former president Barack Obama for re-posting a New York Times article about starvation in Gaza. Pearl said Obama is selectively speaking up to keep his political party happy. He also backed President Donald Trump’s tough stance on Hamas after its attack on Israel. Pearl unapologetically highlights the strong ties between America and Israel during heightened antisemitism in the United States. He said: “Israel is a good investment. The things they’re able to do for us, technologically, with AI, militarily — it’s unbelievable. The return on investment, and they have kept a nuclear weapon away from Iran.”
Obama re-posted a New York Times article about starvation affecting children in Gaza, with the caption:
“While a lasting resolution to the crisis in Gaza must involve a return of all hostages and a cessation of Israel’s military operations, these articles underscore the immediate need for action to prevent the travesty of innocent people dying of preventable starvation.”
Tabloids have been splashing pictures and headlines of starving kids in Gaza.
While cloaked in charity, posts like Obama’s are seen by some as riding the coattails of trending stories.
As a proud Jewish man, Pearl called out Obama for standing tall for Gaza but staying silent earlier on freeing Israeli hostages.
“You gave billions to Iran and Hamas, creating this mess, and not one word from you calling for THEM to release the hostages, surrender, and end the war!” Pearl said. “Tell Hamas to 1) Quit stealing and reselling aid, 2) Stop attacking GHF workers feeding Gazans, 3) Leave and end suffering.”
In the midst of real suffering in the Middle East, Obama is selectively speaking up to keep his political party happy.
Pearl has backed President Donald Trump’s tough stance on Hamas after its attack on Israel.
Trump’s hard line led to a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and the release of hostages like Edan Alexander, whom Pearl long championed for release.
In an interview with OutKick’s Dan Dakich, host of “Don’t @ ME,” Pearl — a strong supporter of Israel — explained why people like Senator Bernie Sanders and other far-left progressives oppose everything President Donald Trump does, even when it potentially aids one of America’s greatest allies, Israel.
“Is it just as simple as people are saying, well, Democrats will oppose anything Donald Trump favors?” Dakich asked. “It can’t be that, can it?”
“It has to be,” Pearl replied. “It has to be, mostly that. It has to be the Trump derangement syndrome.”
Pearl added, “There are two reasons why some Republicans are having discussions about not being 100 percent supportive of the United States stepping in. First, some truly believe they don’t want to get involved because they don’t want to start wars. Second, a larger element in the Republican Party is trying to bring the deficit down, and I get that. They’re sitting there going, ‘Look, we spent all this money in Ukraine. We’re spending all this money right now in the Middle East.’”
Using his platform as a successful men’s collegiate basketball coach, Pearl unapologetically highlights the strong ties between America and Israel during heightened antisemitism in the United States.
“Israel is a good investment,” Pearl told Dakich. “It’s our greatest ally. The things they’re able to do for us, technologically, with AI, militarily — it’s unbelievable. The return on investment, and they have kept a nuclear weapon away from Iran.”

Auburn’s Bruce Pearl Blasts Obama For Gaza Stance
Auburn men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl wasn’t fond of a post that former president Barack Obama wrote recently. Obama reposted an article from The New York Times regarding starving children in Gaza, writing the caption: “These articles underscore the immediate need for action to prevent the travesty of innocent people dying of preventable starvation.” Pearl, a Jewish man, blasted Obama for saying something about Gaza, but nothing about freeing Israeli hostages.

Headlines and photographs of starving Gaza kids have been released by tabloids.
Some have criticized Obama‘s post as riding the wave of a trending story, rather than being authentic charity.

Obama has yet to respond to Pearl.
Auburn’s Bruce Pearl needles Obama over statement on Gaza
Auburn Tigers men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl criticized President Barack Obama over the hunger situation in Gaza. Obama suggested aid must flow to Palestinians regardless of whether Israel can secure a hostage deal. Obama made the statement on social media on Sunday in reference to reporting from the New York Times stating that “Gazans are dying of starvation.” Israel, which blocked aid to Gaza earlier this year, has recently begun to airdrop aid resources into the region, and its leaders argue reports of starvation are a false campaign promoted by Hamas.“You gave billions to Iran and Hamas creating this mess and not one word from you calling for THEM to release the hostages, surrender and end the War! Tell Hamas to 1) Quit stealing and reselling aid 2) Stop attacking GHF workers who are feeding Gazans 3) Leave and end suffering,” Pearl wrote on X.

Pearl, who is the chair of the U.S. Israel Education Association, criticized the former president on Monday for failing to demand that Hamas return the hostages it has held since the Oct. 7, 2023 terror attacks.

AUBURN’S BRUCE PEARL PUMPS BRAKES ON US SENATE RUMORS
“Aid must be permitted to reach people in Gaza. There is no justification for keeping food and water away from civilian families,” he added.
President Donald Trump touted U.S. efforts to provide aid to Gaza when asked about the situation on Sunday. While meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at the time, he stated that Europe has not provided aid to Gaza. He also said that Hamas is stealing much of the aid being sent to Palestinians, a claim Israel has put forward repeatedly.
“When I see the children and when I see, especially over the last couple of weeks people are stealing the food, they’re stealing the money, they’re stealing the money for the food. They’re stealing weapons, they’re stealing everything,” Trump told reporters.
“It’s a mess, that whole place is a mess. The Gaza Strip, you know it was given many years ago so they could have peace. That didn’t work out too well,” he added.
Pearl, who is Jewish, has been more outspoken against Hamas terrorists and the ongoing conflict in the Middle East since the terror attacks.
He explained on the “Being Jewish Podcast” in June about why he speaks out.
“Here’s the deal. One of the reasons why I do it, it’s really simple. What is your Middle Eastern studies course teaching you in high school? Oh, you don’t have one? Oh, so then let’s go on social media and let’s read the lies and the propaganda,” Pearl explained.
“In the back of their minds it’s, ‘Maybe they are right. Maybe the Jews did steal the land. Maybe they did run them out of their home. I don’t know.’ Well, that’s because you’ve never been taught. So you’re listening to the loudest voices, [which is] a very, very loud minority.”

North Alabama man confessed in 911 call to killing a ‘loving mother,’ court documents say
Wyatt Braxton Young, 25, is being held in the Morgan County Jail without bond. He is accused of killing Nancy Deanne Sandlin Fox, 59, of Hartselle. Young told a 911 dispatcher he killed her moments before police arrived to arrest him, court documents say. He broke the front door’s glass, entered, and fired at Fox as she ran toward her bedroom, they say. There he shot her, then struck her in the head with the weapon after it ran out of ammunition.
Wyatt Braxton Young, 25, of Falkville, is being held in the Morgan County Jail without bond, charged with capital murder.
He is accused of killing Nancy Deanne Sandlin Fox, 59, of Hartselle, who was found dead at the scene at a Stage Road residence in Hartselle Thursday.
Court documents filed against Young say that he drove to the home on Thursday before 9 a.m. armed with a .45 pistol, intending to kill Fox.
Once he exited his vehicle, he saw her inside the home. She saw him and dialed 911, saying there was a man with a gun outside her house.
As Young walked toward the house, he fired into it, according to investigators.
He broke the front door’s glass, entered, and fired at Fox as she ran toward her bedroom. There he shot her, then struck her in the head with the weapon after it ran out of ammunition. He also kicked her with his steel-toed boots, authorities say.
Once Young called 911, the document stated, he told dispatchers his name and location and said that he had killed Fox.
He waited for officers, who took him into custody at the scene. He also told an officer that he was responsible for her death.
Fox was pronounced dead in the home.
In a statement in her obituary, Fox’s family called her “a loving mother, grandmother, and sister and she loved taking care of people.”
“In the words of her children, ‘Our mom was the most kind, caring and trusting person we know. She never met a stranger, and she would give the shirt off her back for anyone even if it was the only thing she had to give. If you knew her, you were her family, friend, or unofficial adopted child. She is loved and missed by many. We just ask for all your prayers as we go through this difficult time of grief and healing.’”
