Trump scolds CNN nemesis during Epstein questioning: ‘Be quiet!’
CNN’s Kaitlan Collins asked President Donald Trump about his recent comments on the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Trump said that Epstein “stole’ young women from his Mar-a-Lago spa, including Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s sex trafficking accusers. Trump has repeatedly told the media and his MAGA base to stop asking questions about the sex-trafficking case, saying that the files are a “hoax” brought on by Democrats. The Epstein fiasco erupted earlier this month when the Justice Department released a memo that concluded that Epstein had no so-called “client list” and had died by suicide in his jail cell.
Trump faced immediate backlash on Tuesday after he told reporters that Epstein “stole” young women from his Mar-a-Lago spa, including Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s sex trafficking accusers. In a video shared on CNN’s “The Source,” Collins asked Trump outside the White House about his claim that Epstein “stole” young women from him.
“Mr. President, you said earlier that Jeffrey Epstein was stealing young women. You said Jeffrey Epstein was stealing young women from your spa. Did that raise alarm bells for you?” Collins asked.
But Trump did not answer the question.
“Be quiet,” Trump told her as he tried to listen to another question from a different reporter.
The video, highlighted earlier by Mediaite, was circulating on social media as Trump continues to dodge questions about the Epstein scandal. Trump has repeatedly told the media and his MAGA base to stop asking questions about Epstein’s sex trafficking case, saying that the files were a “hoax” brought on by Democrats.
The Epstein fiasco erupted earlier this month when the Justice Department released a memo that concluded that Epstein had no so-called “client list” and had died by suicide in his jail cell. The Justice Department said at the time that it would not be releasing any more documents related to the sex-trafficking case, prompting outrage from some of Trump’s most staunch loyalists.
Trump’s relationship with Epstein has faced further scrutiny after the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump was informed in May that his name was included in the Justice Department files about Epstein’s sex trafficking case.
When asked earlier this week why he ended his friendship with Epstein, Trump said that it was because Epstein “stole” employees from his Mar-a-Lago spa. When asked on Tuesday if Giuffre was one of the employees poached by Epstein, Trump said “he stole her.”
Trump: People were taken out of the spa, hired by Epstein… I told him we don’t want you taking our people, whether it’s spa or not spa. He did it again, I said out of here.
Reporter: Was one of the stolen people Virginia Giuffre?
Trump: I think so. He stole her. pic.twitter.com/sLoDdKNasn — Acyn (@Acyn) July 29, 2025
Giuffre died by suicide earlier this year. She claimed that Maxwell spotted her working as a spa attendant at Mar-a-Lago in 2000, when she was a teenager, and hired her as Epstein’s masseuse, which led to sexual abuse.
Although Giuffre’s allegations did not become part of criminal prosecutions against Epstein, she is central to conspiracy theories about the case. She accused Epstein of pressuring her into having sex with powerful men.
