Veterans gather at Syracuse University for business skills entrepreneurship bootcamp
Twenty six veterans from all over the United States gathered at Syracuse University for the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans. The program has since expanded to include Texas A&M, UCLA, the University of Connecticut, Louisiana State University, Florida State University.
Veterans will attend classes, networking events, and presentations that will teach them how to run a business with the help of 30 professors and entrepreneurs, all expenses paid.
“What they’re getting from this is that sense of community that they may have lost since their time in service,” said Misty Fox, Director of Entrepreneurship and Small Business at the Syracuse University’s D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families. “They’re getting their connections to resources. They’re getting connections to folks to help propel them forward.”
Founded in 2007, the program has since expanded to include Texas A&M, UCLA, the University of Connecticut, Louisiana State University, Florida State University, Saint Joseph’s University, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and the University of Missouri.
The program runs from Saturday, July 26 to Saturday, August 2.
