Martha Stewart is serving up some shade for Duchess Meghan – with a side of praise for Gwyneth Paltrow.
The domesticated diva took aim at the “With Love, Meghan” star in a Yahoo Lifestyle interview published July 27, telling the outlet that she doesn’t “really know” Meghan “very well, and I hope she knows what she’s talking about.”
“Authenticity, to me, is everything, and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important,” she added.
Meghan reentered public life this year and launched a pair of pre-Prince Harry-inspired pursuits – her “With Love” lifestyle show on Netflix and the companion brand As Ever – five years after the pair first stepped back from their roles as British working royals in January 2020. Before meeting Harry, Meghan was the curator of a successful lifestyle blog, The Tig.
Despite her pre-royal pedigree, Stewart had more to say about Goop cofounder Paltrow.

“Gwyneth has been very successful; she created quite an interesting body of businesses. She’s admired. She won an Oscar (for 1998’s ‘Shakespeare in Love’) for heaven’s sake as an actress! She’s pretty powerful.”
As far as her lifestyle successors are concerned, Stewart had a simple message, telling Yahoo that “I don’t mind. Good luck.”
This isn’t the first time Stewart has spoke up about Meghan’s renewed endeavors. In April, the queen of the kitchen added a dash of spice to the narrative surrounding the release of “With Love.”

When asked about Meghan’s lifestyle program, which quickly drew comparisons to Stewart’s media empire, Stewart admitted in an Access Hollywood interview that she had “not seen the show yet.”
“Has it started?” Stewart then asked, even though “With Love” made headlines when it debuted in March. “I’ll watch an episode and see how she does.” The Martha Stewart Omnimedia founder said she was “curious” about the show.
The April comments came as Stewart promoted an NBC cooking competition series, “Yes Chef!” with World Central Kitchen chef (and friend of Meghan and Harry) José Andrés, who added during the interview: “I love Meghan.”
