We’re nearing the end of this year’s Amazon Prime Day gaming deals, and while we’ve seen some hot products come and go, there’s still a little bit of time to find some solid savings – even as the end draws nearer. I’ve been covering gaming discounts for many years, dealing in everything from Switch games to VR headsets, so I’ve learned some good instincts for figuring out what deals are worth caring about.

On top of experience working different sales events, I regularly go hands-on with all the latest gear, so I’m here to make sure you not only get the best deals before Prime Day is over, but that you’re actually buying the kit that’s worth it.

We’re at an interesting point with gaming, which might have had an affect on the Amazon Prime gaming deals this time around. After all, the Nintendo Switch 2 has just launched, all while the Xbox has been having price increases to its RRPs. There’s a lot of volatility in the market, even as there are some great deals to consider.

Below, we’ve got a roundup of the best Prime Day deals we’ve found that you can snag before the event is over tonight, July 11, at midnight PT.

Today’s best Prime Day gaming deals

Xbox Wireless Gaming controller (2025) | $64.99 $47.49 at Amazon

Save 27% – Ah, the humble, standard Xbox controller, a reliable pad for gaming on Xbox and PC alike. They’re always less expensive than pro versions, but they’re still pricy, so this discount is a great way to get an extra. It’s not quite the cheapest we’ve ever seen, but it’s within a couple of bucks. Other colors are on offer, too, but usually more expensive. Price check: Best Buy: $59.99 | Walmart: $47.69 UK: £49.99 at Currys

Star Wars Outlaws (Limited Edition) for PS5/Xbox Series X | $52.95 $28.49 at Amazon

Save $24.46 – This is the lowest price yet for Ubisoft’s open world take on the Star Wars universe. Plus, while it had a rough launch, big updates mean Star Wars Outlaws is even better to play now than it was at launch. This should come with extra cosmetic DLC for buying via Amazon, too. UK: £25.49 at Amazon

Life is Strange: Double Exposure for PS5/Xbox Series X | $49.99 $24.99 at Amazon

Save $25 – We felt mixed about the latest in the Life is Strange series, so we’ve been waiting a while for a big price cut to really recommend it. At half price, this is the cheapest we’ve seen it, and while a mixed bag, it’s nice to hang out with Max from the first game again! The Switch version is reduced too, but it’s more expensive. UK: £28.99 at Amazon

Split Fiction for PS5/Xbox Series X | $49.99 $35 at Amazon

Save $15 – This is a deep discount on one of the best games of 2025, though it should be noted, you need to play it with two people. This co-op platformer is loads of fun as you work together, hopping genres, and it’s more challenging at times than you might expect. UK: £44.99 £29.44 at Amazon

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PS5 | $69.99 $39.99 at Amazon

Save 43% – This huge RPG is back at its lowest boxed price on Amazon to date! A direct sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Remake, it adds huge semi-open world sections that bring the environments of the classic PS1 original to stunning life, with a gripping story. UK: £52.99 £45.04 at Amazon

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge for Nintendo Switch | $34.99 $22.99 at Amazon

Save 34% – Tribute’s modern approach to retro games is always fantastic, and this revival of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles beat ’em ups is one of the best in the genre, full-stop. Beautiful pixel art and fantastic cartoon action is even better in co-op, too. UK: £27.00 at Amazon

Final Fantasy 1-6 collection Nintendo Switch | $74.99 $44.99 at Amazon

Save $30 – Fewer things are better than a saving on a good game, except maybe a saving on a collection of them. If you want to busy your days with some of the most influential RPGs going, then look no further. UK: £49.99 at Amazon

Visions of Mana for PS5/Xbox Series X | $39.99 $29.99 at Amazon

Save $10 – This was the first new game in the series in a long time, and I really liked how it ended up – it was actually one of the most popular RPGs on the site the year it released. It’s felt a bit slept on, so don’t miss the cheapest price yet for this one! UK: £25 at Amazon

Assassin’s Creed Shadows – Limited Edition Xbox Series X| $69.99 $47.49 at Amazon

Save $22.50 – You can find the same discount on the Xbox Series X edition of Assassin’s Creed Shadows too, in case Microsoft is your platform-holder of choice. UK: £56.99 £39.99 at Amazon

HORI D-Pad Zelda controller for Nintendo Switch | $27.99 $11.98 at Amazon

Save $16.01 – This is a record-low price for the Hori Switch controller that adds a D-pad on a left Joy-Con replacement. It’s not the flashiest controller around, but it’s the cheapest we’ve ever seen it, and Hori does good work. Plus: Zelda! Price check: Walmart: $25 | Best Buy: $25.99

Just Dance 2025 Edition for Nintendo Switch | $49.99 $19.99 at Amazon

Save $30 – There’s nothing wrong with wanting to get your groove on, especially for this super low price that brings it back down to the lowest price we’ve seen. This Amazon edition should even include exclusive content with the Ariana Grande song pack. Thank U, Next? I think not with this deal. UK: £20.81 at Amazon

Fantasian Neo Dimension for Nintendo Switch | $49.99 $29.99 at Amazon

Save $20 – Speaking of Nintendo Switch deals, Fantasian Neo Dimension is at a record-low price as well. This is $5 lower than we’ve seen before, and it houses a whole lot of RPG to play. Price check: Walmart: No stock | Best Buy: No stock

Suikoden I & II HD Remaster for Nintendo Switch | $49.99 $29.99 at Amazon

Save $20 – While this technically only matches the lowest price we’ve seen for the Suikoden remasters, it’s still a great deal for anyone that’s been waiting for a significant price drop. Price check: Walmart: $41.99 | Best Buy: $49.99

MSI Clutch GM31 wireless gaming mouse and charging dock | $60.94 $30 at Amazon

Save $30 – The deal is back! This was already super cheap for a wireless FPS-first mouse with a charging dock in the box, but Amazon has just dropped the MSI Clutch GM31 to its lowest price yet. That means you can pick up with slimline GM31 model for just $30 this week – I’ve never seen it drop below $40 before. Price check: Walmart: $39.99 | Best Buy: No stock

Razer BlackShark V2 X Gaming Headset | $59.99 $36.08 at Amazon

Save $24 – If you’re looking for a budget-friendly wired headset for your PC, the Razer BlackShark V2 X is only $3 more than its lowest price ever on Amazon, making for a tempting deal. Its black and white colorways are the most affordable, but if you’re willing to spend a little more, you can also purchase it in pink or green. Price check: Walmart: $39.99 | Best Buy: $35.14 UK: £59.99 £33.24 at Amazon

Razer Ornata V3 gaming keyboard | $79.99 $63.19 at Amazon

Save $20 – I’m a big fan of the Ornata V2 I picked up a few years ago – enough that I’m eyeing this V3 detail with a definite level of interest. Halfway between a mechanical and a traditional keyboard, the Ornata’s membrane switches are a delight, especially if you’re getting a 25% discount on it.

ASUS ROG Strix G16 5070Ti | $2,399.99 $1,999.99 at Amazon

Save $400 – If you’re taking another step up, this 5070Ti model gives the ASUS ROG Strix G16 an extra bit of oomph, especially when you add in the extra RAM to take it to 32GB. Once again, a lowest-ever price on Amazon means you could certainly do better if you’re looking for high-end specs.

COLORCORAL Cleaning Gel | $11.99 $5.91 at Amazon

Save $6 – As a PC Gamer of many years, I can tell you that one of the biggest occupational hazards is the dust and grime that can accumulate around your peripherals. I’ve never really found a great solution for dealing with it, but this cleaning gel from COLORCORAL is better than half price, so it could be worth taking a punt on. Even better, you can use it anywhere you’ve got a dusty crevice to clear, so it’s useful for the non-gamers in your life too.

Final Fantasy XVI | $39.99 $24.79 at Amazon

Get 38% off – If you’re yet to visit the most recent Final Fantasy and experience its epic battles, now’s your chance to do so for less money. This is a few years old now, but that only means you’re getting a AAA experience for way less than most gamers paid for it. And with the sultry voice of the Fantastic 4’s Galactus joining the cast, you’ll be right up with the moviegoing zeitgeist too. UK: £24.95 at Amazon

Horizon Forbidden West – Special Edition | $79.99 $39.99 at Amazon

Save $40 – I adored Aloy’s first adventure, and even delved deeper into the world with its VR spin-off, Call of the Mountain, so this Special Edition deal was enough that I considered a second purchase of Forbidden West. A full 50% off is a deal almost too good to miss on one of the best PS5 games out there.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero | $69.99 $39.99 at Amazon

Save $30 – Against all my personal expectations, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero was one of the best-selling games of 2024. If you want to dive into the action yourself but missed out at launch, this is a great excuse to dial up your power level.

What to expect from Prime Day gaming deals 2025

Those on the hunt for Prime Day gaming deals are casting a wide net, so to help you narrow your catch, we’re rounding up everything we expect to see on a platform basis. You’ll find our predictions for the biggest discounts in the worlds of PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC just below.

PS5

The PS5 Slim has already seen some fantastic bundles in the first months of 2025, with a $50 discount and a free copy of Astro Bot or Call of Duty.

But what about those who already have a console under their belts? Well, other gaming discounts have been strong. As we’ve seen in previous years, the biggest discounts are going to be reserved for those long-standing entries in the catalog, but we’re excited to see some serious cash off the likes of the Final Fantasy collection. Older releases tend to do quite well in Prime Day gaming deals after all.

Accessories like controllers and SSDs are also always a Prime Day favorite, and we often see the official DualSense on sale during larger holiday events. That $74.99 / £59.99 MSRP often gives way to a sale price of around $54.99 / £44.99 which is what we’re hoping for this year. On the storage side, the 2TB Samsung 990 Pro is the one to watch in the future. It’s the best PS5 SSD on the market, and dropped as low as $139.99 / £129.99 over Black Friday last year. SSDs have been a little harder to discount in the first few months of 2025, but this is hopefully where we’ll land in the summer.

Watch List:

PS5 Slim MSRP: $499.99 / £479.99 Expected Price: $449.99 / £409 Buy it if: ✅ You want to play PS4 disks

✅ You want the PS Plus library

✅ You want the extra features of the DualShock Don’t buy it if: ❌ You don’t need a disk drive

❌ You prefer Game Pass’s library View at Amazon

DualSense controller MSRP: $74.99 / £59.99 Expected Price: $54.99 / £44.99 Buy it if: ✅ You want the full Sony haptic experience

✅ You don’t need extra controls

✅ You like a heavier controller Don’t buy it if: ❌ You want more customization View at Amazon

Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSD with heatsink MSRP: $309.99 / £229.99 Expected Price: $139.99 / £129.99 Buy it if: ✅ You prioritize speed over space

✅ You want a heatsink attached

✅ You want an easy install experience Don’t buy it if: ❌ You want as much storage as possible View at Amazon

Nacon Revolution 5 Pro MSRP: $199.99 / £209.99 Expected Price: $174.99 / £186 Buy it if: ✅ You want plenty of extra features

✅ You don’t want to worry about battery

✅ You prefer looser sticks Don’t buy it if: ❌ You won’t make use of the extras View at Amazon

Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch OLED and original Nintendo Switch are in a tough spot right now, and I’ve seen discounts dropping pretty regularly on the older devices. That means value favors those picking up an original handheld this Prime Day – I haven’t been expecting any savings on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Of course, Prime Day Nintendo Switch deals are a lot more reliable when it comes to games. While we generally don’t see the kinds of discounts we would expect from Black Friday here, we still expected to see some $20 / £20 discounts on the likes of Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart, and Super Mario Odyssey. Newer games walk a finer line, but with more and more titles like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Wonder slowly shedding their price tags, we could be in for a treat in the summer.

There’s also Nintendo Switch accessories to consider. Anything not compatible with the new Nintendo Switch 2 is already tanking in price. The Hori Split Pad Pro Attachment Set has dropped as low as $39.99 ($40 off $79.99) since the new device released, and the Genki Covert Dock is a Prime Day favorite ready to see similar savings. If you have upgraded to the new console, it’s well worth keeping an eye on MicroSD Express cards, cases, and screen protectors as well.

Watchlist:

Nintendo Switch OLED MSRP: $349.99 / £319.99 Expected Price: $289.99 / £249.99 Buy it if: ✅ You will mostly play in handheld mode

✅ You don’t want to wait for Switch 2

✅ You want a high quality screen Don’t buy it if: ❌ You will mostly play in docked mode View at Amazon

Genki Covert Dock MSRP: $59.99 / £59.99 Expected Price: $49.99 / £49.99 Buy it if: ✅ You regularly travel with your handheld

✅ You want speedy charging

✅ You need a multi-charger anyway Don’t buy it if: ❌ You don’t play in docked mode View at Amazon

Xbox

We haven’t seen too many Xbox Series X deals on the shelves in the last few months. Prime Day gaming deals might not be as kind to the flagship console as it will the cheaper S model, though. Microsoft’s price increases have made these consoles particularly difficult to justify in 2025, and savings are few and far between.

That means the majority of this year’s Prime Day gaming deals for Xbox players will be focused on that magic Game Pass code. While discounts haven’t been too appealing recently (the best we’re generally able to find was $5 off a three-month subscription), these really are the holy grails of Xbox deals.

Thankfully, there’s no shortage of kit. Official controllers are going to be the most interesting sellers here; the cheaper Xbox Wireless Controller, mid-range Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Controller, and premium Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller are the stars of this year’s show.

Watchlist:

Xbox Elite Series 2 Core controller MSRP: $139.99 / £114.99 Expected Price: $99.99 / £99.99 Buy it if: ✅ You want more customization options

✅ You’re tired of constantly charging

✅ You want a PC controller as well Don’t buy it if: ❌ You want all the attachments from day one View at Amazon

SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5X MSRP: $129.99 / £129.99 Expected Price: $109.99 / £109.99 Buy it if: ✅ You want dedicated EQ presets on console

✅ A wireless connection is a priority

✅ You need Bluetooth support Don’t buy it if: ❌ You want easy access to full EQ sliders View at Amazon

What to expect from Prime Day Asus ROG Ally deals 2025

There are two things I was looking out for this year in terms of ROG Ally deals. The first was a new record low on the Asus ROG Ally Z1 Extreme that beat its previous $499 price tag. I wouldn’t have been entirely surprised if it had dipped to $399 in response to the Nintendo Switch 2 and Asus’ own upcoming ROG Xbox Ally handheld.

The second discount I was anticipating applies to the Asus ROG Ally X. The premium portable wasn’t around last Prime Day, but I was keen to see it drop to its $699.99 Black Friday price. Ideally, it’ll dip even further, but I’m conscious that it’s a slightly fresher device than the original.

As for accessories, you are still able to snag savings on cases, power banks, and more in these last hours of the Prime event. It’s actually worth checking in on Prime Day Steam Deck deals, too, even if you own a ROG Ally, as many of the best Steam Deck accessories will pair perfectly with Asus’ portable powerhouse. If you’re eyeing up any Steam Deck docks, just make sure to double-check compatibility before clicking buy.

Nintendo Switch Prices Increase in Canada on August 1st, Here’s How to Prepare

The price of the Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) in Canada will increase on August 1st. The price increase will not apply to the standard Nintendo Switch console or its accessories. If you’ve been planning on buying a Nintendo Switch, you have two days to do so before the price increase goes into effect. The current price is $449 for the standard console and $79 for the Deluxe version. For more information, visit Nintendo’s website.

As a friendly reminder, on Friday, August 1st, Nintendo is increasing prices surrounding the Switch console, games, and accessories.

Earlier in June, Nintendo made a brief announcement, confirming that prices were increasing in Canada due to changes “based on market conditions.” It was earlier reported that price increases will hit the Nintendo Switch (OLED Model), Nintendo Switch standard console, Nintendo Switch Lite, physical and digital Nintendo Switch games and accessories.

Thankfully, the price increase will not affect the Nintendo Switch 2 console, physical or digital games, or accessories.

Nintendo opted not to reveal new prices until August 1st. On Friday, the company will be posting Canadian market-specific prices to the website. This leaves customers to make one of two decisions. Canadians can either wait until Friday to see what the new prices will be and make decisions on purchases following the increase in prices. Or, customers can be strategic in the last few days of the current price in Canada.

For instance, the Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) is currently $449 in Canada. While it’s purely speculation to assume what the new price will be, $449 is already a high price for an OLED display console. So, if you’ve been eyeing adding a Nintendo Switch (OLED Model), standard Nintendo Switch, or Nintendo Switch Lite, you may want to pull the trigger before Friday.

Software is really where a lot of emphasis is placed. In many cases, Nintendo Switch games cost $79. This current pricing model includes games like Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Bros Wonder, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Mario and Sonic At The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, etc. While other titles like Balatro and Switch Sports are available for less, it’s encouraged to cross off that game that’s been sitting on your list before a price increase hits.

It’s also worth noting that both Nintendo Switch Online and its Expansion Pack will be affected by the price increase as well. If you’re not currently a subscriber but have been wanting to, there are two days left to sign up at the respective $25 and $64 annual subscription prices.

Eyeing a Older Nintendo Switch? Buy Now Before Prices Go Up

Nintendo is increasing prices on older Switch consoles and some Switch 2 accessories in the US and Canada. The company cites “market conditions” for the price increase. Nintendo says the $449 Switch 2 and physical and digital games for both generations of console will “remain unchanged at this time.” On Friday, the company reported that Switch 2 sales have topped 6 million, beating its own expectations. The price increase might be a response to US tariffs. Starting Aug 7, the US will tariff goods from Vietnam at 20% and goods from Cambodia at 19%. US tariffs on China will remain at 30% after the two countries reached a trade truce back in May.

Effective Aug. 3, Nintendo is increasing prices on older Switch consoles and some Switch 2 accessories in the US and Canada, citing “market conditions.”

“These include Nintendo Switch – OLED Model, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite and select Nintendo Switch accessories,” the company says.

Updated prices appeared briefly on Target, though they seem to have reverted back for now. The Switch 1 was listed at $339, up from $299; the Switch Lite was $229, up from $199, and the Switch 1 OLED was $399, up from $349.

The good news is that Nintendo says the $449 Switch 2 and physical and digital games for both generations of console will “remain unchanged at this time.” The company also isn’t touching the Nintendo Switch Online membership in the US, which currently costs $3.99 per month.

“However, please note that price adjustments may be necessary in the future,” the company warned. Price changes are already live in Canada:

Switch 1: CAD$419 (US$304), up from $399

CAD$419 (US$304), up from $399 Switch Lite: CAD $279 (US$202), up from $259.99

CAD $279 (US$202), up from $259.99 Switch 1 OLED: CAD$489 (US$354), up from $449.99

In Canada, though, the company raised the pricing of many games by $5 or $10.

Normally, companies discount their older hardware when a new console generation emerges. But Nintendo is doing the opposite, possibly to drive more sales to the Switch 2. On Friday, the company reported that Switch 2 sales have topped 6 million, beating its own expectations. Giving people a two-day notice could also encourage them to buy now and clear out Nintendo’s stock of older, less pricey Switch consoles.

“The Nintendo Switch 2 hardware’s higher price, relative to Nintendo Switch, contributed to a greater increase in net sales,” the company said in an earnings report for Q2, which showed the vendor raking in 572.3 billion yen in revenue (US$3.8 billion), up 132% year-over-year.

Although Nintendo didn’t explain what’s driving the price changes, it might be a response to US tariffs. On Thursday, the Trump administration introduced new tariffs on dozens of countries, including Vietnam and Cambodia, where Switch 2 hardware is manufactured. Starting Aug. 7, the US will tariff goods from Vietnam at 20% and goods from Cambodia at 19%. US tariffs on China will remain at 30% after the two countries reached a trade truce back in May.

After 7 weeks of painful scrolling, the Switch 2 stock shortage might finally be over, but I’m not popping the cork just yet

The Nintendo Switch 2 is now widely available in the US. It’s available at Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart, but Target tapped out earlier today. Nintendo just announced its Pokémon Legends Z-A bundle that will release in line with the RPG this October, but even the game’s solid ETA could lead to players picking up the base console in advance. Ongoing and sporadic US tariffs are the reason pre-orders were originally delayed, and any major changes could make it harder for retailers to get hold of stock. The other element that may impact Switch 2 stock that isn’t as fun, though, is simply related to the nature of global economics today. If you are itching to grab Ninty’s latest handheld, I’d plan ahead in case something disrupts the portable’s presence on shelves.

Anyone who’s been eyeing up the Nintendo Switch 2 since the handheld’s release will be familiar with out-of-stock signs. For weeks, it felt like US retailers just couldn’t catch a break, as I watched the handheld vanish as quickly as it’d appear.

However, following a healthy spurt of Nintendo Switch 2 restocks, it feels like the gaming handheld is finally readily available at retailers. As someone who ends up hunting for the latest consoles at release on other people’s behalf, this is a sort of D-Day moment, but I’m not entirely convinced we’ve seen the last of those pesky “unavailable” notices at websites.

The Switch 2 is available at $449.99 at Amazon, albeit with an invitation, and Best Buy has the Mario Kart World for $499.99. Even Walmart has its own supply in addition to pesky resellers trying to flog it for higher than MSRP, but Target actually tapped out earlier today. Yet, that’s not actually what’s worrying me, as I think there are two factors that could lead to bare shelves yet again.

The first ties into new Switch 2 game releases, as I know from experience, some players won’t bite the bullet until their personal system seller arrives on the scene. Nintendo just announced its Pokémon Legends Z-A bundle that will release in line with the RPG this October, but even the game’s solid ETA could lead to players picking up the base console in advance.

Donkey Kong Bananza also dropped this week, and while that hasn’t really impacted stock this week, the fact that it’s now available could spur on Ninty fans to pick up the handheld. I mean, the fact that you can play it with a set of Donkey Konga Bongos is a selling point in its own right, but I’ve already got a few friends thinking about DK’s latest outing now that the dust has settled.

The other element that may impact Switch 2 stock that isn’t as fun, though, is simply related to the nature of global economics today. Ongoing and sporadic US tariffs are the reason pre-orders were originally delayed, and any major changes could make it harder for retailers to get hold of stock. Analysts also previously signalled that evolving situations may impact the handheld’s MSRP, and if that ends up happening, there’d be a rush to pick up the portable before potential price hikes.

I’m hopeful that the Nintendo Switch 2 will now stay in stock for good, and the fact it’s now widely available in the US is a fantastic sign. All I’ll say is that if you are itching to grab Ninty’s latest handheld, I’d plan ahead in case something disrupts the portable’s presence on store shelves.
