“Crazy Rich Asians” star Henry Golding has a new credit card. The Citi Strata Elite Card offers a host of perks for travelers. Golding was born in Sarawak in Malaysian Borneo and moved to the U.K. as a child. “I’ve always been ingrained with this sort of lust for travel,” Golding said of his desire to see the world. “It’s not an easy thing going through TSA and immigration straddling these kids,” he said of traveling with two under 5 years old. “With kids now, we try to go away as much as possible,” he added. “The majority of my expenditures when I’m not working is on travel and restaurants,” he explained. “So why not be rewarded for that?” he said. “Citi StrATA speaks to a person like myself” and “it’s a great way to spend your money” for more than $300 a year, according to the card’s website. The card is available now on Citi.com, with a $300 annual benefit.

Before Henry Golding shot to Hollywood stardom for his role as swoon-worthy Nick Young in the blockbuster “Crazy Rich Asians,” he was a presenter on BBC’s The Travel Show, where he took viewers on adventures around the world. “I’ve always been ingrained with this sort of lust for travel,” Golding told Travel + Leisure in an interview.

And that desire to see and understand the world comes from a personal place: Golding was born in Sarawak in Malaysian Borneo and moved to the U.K. as a child; his mother comes from the native Iban group, and his father is English. “Growing up as a mixed kid, I always had that balance of my Western side and my Eastern side, so I could be proud of both,” he said. Throughout his early career as a travel TV host, he went to places he already knew and loved and discovered brand-new spots as well. When we asked him about the favorite places he filmed when working as a travel presenter, he said, “Thailand is always an amazing place. Malaysia is obviously where my heart is. I’ve spent a lot of time in Vietnam. All of Southeast Asia is amazing.”

Go-to drink order and snack on an airplane? Tomato juice with ice, lemon, and a bit of pepper and whatever crisps.

Favorite hotel? I’ll tell you one I most recently stayed at. It’s called the Cal Reiet in Santanyí in Mallorca. It’s a holistic retreat. We stayed there for three or four days and absolutely loved it.

Favorite place you’ve filmed? London is always amazing, I did six months in Munich, Germany, and Austria—that was awesome. Oh, Madrid! Wipe the slate clean, final answer.

Dream destination you haven’t been to yet? Greenland.

Greatest travel fear? Losing my luggage and passport.

And now, after showing viewers the world through his eyes, he’s bringing it to a new audience: his young daughters, Florence and Lyla, whom he shares with his wife, Liv Lo. “I’ve traveled my entire life. I did 10 years of traveling for work, and now, luckily, a little bit more leisure. With kids now, we try to go away as much as possible.”

But, of course, traveling with two kids under 5 is no easy feat. “It’s not an easy thing going through TSA and immigration straddling these kids, but it’s so rewarding when you get there,” he said. And whether it’s a romantic getaway to Paris with his wife (a recent favorite) or a family trip with the little ones, there are a few travel tips Golding swears by.

“Try to stay on your time zone. When you go to bed, you’ve got to go to bed. Don’t be on your phone. Exercise, sweat it out. If you wake up early, go to the gym,” he shared. He’s also a self-professed “huge packing-cuber,” noting that he keeps all his clothes in packing cubes to stay organized.

And now, through a partnership with Citi, Golding is encouraging other avid travelers to make the most of their trips, thanks to their newest credit card. “The majority of my expenditures when I’m not working is on travel and eating out at restaurants. So why not be kind of rewarded for that?” He continued, saying the new card “definitely speaks to a person like myself.”

The Citi Strata Elite Card offers a host of perks ideal for frequent travelers aiming to maximize the value of their spend, with 12x points on hotels, car rentals, and attractions and 6x points on air travel booked on cititravel.com, 6x points on restaurants during set times (Friday and Saturday, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.) and 3x points any other time, and 1.5x points on other purchases made with the card.
