DJI Unveils Mic 3: A Smarter, Lighter Wireless Audio System for Creators
DJI has expanded its OsmoAudio™ ecosystem with the launch of the DJI Mic 3. The next-generation mini wireless microphone combines the compactness of Mic Mini with the functionality of Mic 2. The Mic 3 will make its public offline debut at IFA Berlin, September 5–9, 2025, where visitors can experience the device firsthand at DJI’s booth (Hall 20-149). It will also be available in black and white for the first time at a discounted price of $99.99 for two transmitters and $99 for the three transmitters.
Weighing just 16 grams per transmitter, the DJI Mic 3 is discreet, portable, and flexible. Whether clipped on, magnetically attached, or paired with customizable windscreens in different colors, it adapts seamlessly to any shooting environment. The Mic 3 also comes with a smart charging case that stores two transmitters and one receiver, along with space for accessories, making it travel-ready for creators on the move.
Premium Audio Made Simple
Mic 3 introduces two of DJI’s adaptive-gain control modes—dynamic mode and automatic mode, which automatically adjust levels to prevent distortion or balance quiet voices in different settings. It also offers three voice-tone presets—Regular, Rich, and Bright. DJI has also included two levels of active noise cancelling for cleaner sound quality. For those seeking pristine quality, the transmitter supports lossless 48 kHz 24-bit audio and internal dual-file recording at 32-bit float, ensuring high-fidelity, detailed audio is being recorded.
Notably, the Mic 3 transmitter also offers a high-precision timecode functionality that is capable of embedding timecode data during internal recording. This allows precise synchronization across multiple cameras, making editing faster and catering to professional productions.
Built for Collaboration and Complex Shoots
Supporting up to four transmitters and eight receivers simultaneously, Mic 3 is ready for multi-camera productions, interviews, and group recordings. In Quadraphonic mode, it can even output four independent audio tracks for precise mixing in post-production. With a 400-meter range and automatic frequency hopping across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, it promises stable, interference-free performance in busy environments.
All-Day Power and Seamless Connectivity
Each transmitter runs up to 8 hours, with the receiver lasting 10 hours. The charging case extends total use to 28 hours. A five-minute quick charge delivers two extra hours of recording. Through the OsmoAudio™ ecosystem, the Mic 3 also integrates seamlessly with existing DJI products like the DJI Osmo 360, Osmo Action 5 Pro, Osmo Action 4, and Osmo Pocket 3 with no receiver required. Beyond the DJI ecosystem, it connects via USB-C, 3.5 mm TRS/TRRS, or wirelessly via Bluetooth for smartphones.
