Benin’s ruling coalition chose Finance Minister Romuald Wadagni as its candidate for the April 2026 presidential election, as the Incumbent Patrice Talon prepares to step down after two terms.
Wadagni, 49, was endorsed by both the Progressive Union for Renewal and the Republican Bloc parties. He couldn’t be reached for a comment on Sunday.
