The fashion crowd is saying benvenuti to Milan this week as they descend on the Italian city for the third leg of the spring/summer 26 shows. The spiritual home of European maximalism and glamour, there will be no shortage of exquisite displays on show at Milan Fashion Week, with Gucci, Ferragamo, Prada and Fendi all taking their usual place on the schedule.

That said, quiet luxury has also been making waves in the Italian city for the past few seasons, and brands such as Jil Sander, Loro Piana and Brunello Cucinelli will no doubt put forward a vision for spring/summer 26 that’s much more in-keeping with the minimalist aesthete.

Milan also possesses stellar star power when it comes to its front rows. From Hollywood royalty to friends and faces of the brands, the historic fashion capital will play host to a plethora of celebrities; on Tuesday night alone, Gwyneth Paltrow, Serena Williams and Demi Moore were drawn to the Palazzo Mezzanott for an evening of Gucci grandeur, with plenty more to come across the week.

For an out-of-towner, IB Kamara sure can draw a crowd. Off-White was back in New York City today after a season in Paris and Kamara and co. made the most of their return, securing the roof of the New Design High School on the Lower East Side and commissioning local graffiti artists to tag its walls in a visual ode to the city’s five boroughs. It felt as much like an art opening as it did a fashion show. Or like a basketball game. Ellie the Elephant, the mascot for New York Liberty women’s team, with whom Off-White was collaborating, had a front-row seat.

Backstage, Kamara was talking about another NYC export, even bigger than graffiti: streetwear. Before he died, Virgil Abloh posited that “streetwear is dead.” Kamara believes differently, as he’s made clear over the last year in a trio of shows that covered similar ground, tapping into sport, biker, West African, and, yes, streetwear motifs. “I want to make sure the language is understood,” he explained backstage. “I’m realizing what my taste is, and I think this collection feels like a complete merge of my time here and me.”

It is a colorful, bold, playful kind of taste. Body-con leggings and sheer button-downs with shoulder pads, and second-skin knits—all in graphic color-blocking that made the clothes look built for speed. Topstitched denim with Swarovski crystal studded collars; hoodies and jeans airbrushed with the skyscrapers. “They’re clothes that are meant to not look like everything else,” he said. And he got that right.

Kamara named the collection “Fountain of Youth,” a nod to the New Design High School students who watched the show from the cafeteria and a tribute to the young Black pioneers who gave the world not just graffiti and streetwear, but also hip-hop. From that contingent, Busta Rhymes and Mary J. Blige were in the crowd. But the music that made such an impression at the show was by Kamara, and Azekel, Erik Bodin, and Yukimi Nagano, according to the press notes. The last song before the finale defied the Shazam app, but it was a quiet, beautiful banger.

The fall 2025 shoe trends covered the entire aesthetic spectrum, from casual and dressy options to peep-toe pumps and riding boots fit for the stables. Despite their different designs, each pair shown on the season’s runways shared a common trait: they all felt clearly suited for fall and were welcome swaps for flip-flops. While the lightweight slips and lacey camisoles from the Fall 2025 collections were versatile enough for summer heat waves, the season’s top shoes seem intended for wear only after the leaves start to change.

Now, designers are acting like Dr. Frankenstein, creating all sorts of hybrid combinations. At Miu Miu, there were buckled black and brown sneakers that looked like loafers, while Lacoste displayed a three-inch cleat that wouldn’t quite work on the field.

After leopard spots dominated the scene for months, exotic snakeskin now takes center stage for fall. From thigh-high boots in slate gray faux skins (Tod’s and Khaite) to T-strap pumps in an orange-y corn snake shade (Marni), fall 2025 showcases reptilian prints in various forms. The luxurious fabric, reminiscent of cold-blooded reptiles, is perfect for the colder-weather season.

Ferragamo incorporated this shiny fabric into its iconic wedge sandal, while Chanel added its signature cap-toe detail. Plus, delicate satin isn’t a fabric you’d want to get wet, making it tricky to wear in summer (sweat), spring (rain), and winter (snow). Start with Ulla Johnson and Max Mara’s open-backed ballet flats or The Row’s leather slides that, admittedly, look a lot more luxurious than the ones you took home from a recent hotel stay.

For several seasons now, brands have taken great care to focus on craft-forward details. Case in point: the proliferation of fringe in this summer’s shoes. Designers have taken full advantage of the movement-friendly decal, attaching tassels and pom-poms to their best fisherman sandals at Emilia Wickstead and lace-up Oxfords at Valentino, plus the strappy heels at Maria McManus.

Wrap It Up

There is something innately provocative about a shoe that laces up the ankle or wraps around the toes. Really, it’s the BDSM silhouette of the footwear scene. This season, designers explored all avenues for the perverse style. Danielle Kallmeyer, for one, sent out both kitten-heeled strappy sandals and stringy, wrap-around thongs set on flat soles.

Who could keep Jung Hoseok, better known as J-Hope and a member of the biggest band in the world BTS; Antoine Dupont, gold medalist and the world’s top rugby player, and Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton — and at times the richest man in the world — waiting in hushed silence?

None other than Queen Bey. Beyoncé Knowles-Carter — on the arm of husband Jay-Z and accompanied by nephew Julez Smith — made a grand arrival at the Louis Vuitton show Tuesday night after all guests had been safely seated for several minutes, and the show had been delayed for an hour-and-a-half from its original start time. One could hear a pin drop until screams erupted outside.

Fresh off three sold-out shows at Stade de France over the weekend, Knowles-Carter is still deep in her “Cowboy Carter” era, arriving in a double denim Texas tuxedo and 10-gallon hat. She was seated front and center in the forecourt of the Pompidou Center modern art museum for men’s artistic director Pharrell Williams’ Indian-inspired collection.

Jackson Wang, who collaborated with Williams’ Billionaire Boys Club and Joopiter for his “Life Is a Race” collection that debuted on Sunday, enjoyed a mini-reunion with his Got7 bandmate Bam Bam in the front row. Both are Louis Vuitton ambassadors.

Bam Bam teased a new album on the horizon. “I would say yes, because we just finished the Got7 stuff,” he said of the band’s album “Winter Heptagon,” released in January. “Now we are slowly coming out [with solo projects] one by one, and my turn is at the end of the year.”

The singer debuted bleached white locks and wore a Louis Vuitton jinbei-inspired wrap jacket. “I don’t know what I’m wearing, but it just looked cool,” he joked. “The traffic was crazy. It said it would take 20 minutes, but I was in the car for two hours.”

Ever-patient pop stars Bam Bam and Wang lingered after the show for nearly half an hour, gamely chatting and taking selfies with every fan who approached before heading backstage to greet Williams.

Basketball star-turned-designer Russell Westbrook also made the front row after spending the day presenting his streetwear label, Honor the Gift, and new upscale line, Westbrook by HTG. “I have a showroom here, so we are showing our spring ’26 collection as well. I’ve been there working all day, then I came out for the show,” he said.

Westbrook finds Williams’ work inspiring. “He is always authentic to who he is. It’s important to stay authentic to who you are, and I think he does that very well.”

Other guests included Bradley Cooper, A$AP Nast, “Squid Game” star Gong Yoo, Steve Harvey and Christian Dior creative director Jonathan Anderson, who will make his highly anticipated debut at the house on Friday.
