Fireball Whisky no longer sells just one flavor—now in addition to its spicy cinnamon booze that’s practically synonymous with college frat parties, the brand has branched out, literally, with its Blazin’ Apple flavor (cause, ya know, apples grow on tree branches). The new flavor marries the brand’s signature cinnamon heat with the sweet taste of apple, and the offering will be available year-round.

Since its debut, fans have been quick to express their excitement for the new flavor and many have already gotten their hands on it…and let’s just say reactions vary. Some people were really not a fan of the new drink: “the flavor was very off putting,” stated one person on a Reddit thread.

“Acceptable to my palate on the way in…tasted like a green apple jolly rancher. BUT on the way out….black licorice. Gross. Terrible,” wrote another.

“I would rather French kiss a breaker box than drink your liquid of agony,” one person commented on an Instagram post.

One person had such a visceral reaction to the new spirit that they basically wrote a dissertation describing their tasting experience. “If you enjoy punishing your taste buds, or want to elicit pained expressions on the face of your friends as they try awful liquors in the parking lot while tailgating, this may work just as well as regular Fireball, and could be a better mixer in the right cocktail, but is still something generally to be avoided,” they wrote. Clearly, not a big Fireball fan here.

However, others were ecstatic over the new flavor. “Sooooo freaking good,” commented one person on the brand’s Instagram post. Similar sentiments were echoed throughout many of the comments. “It’s soooooo sooo good!” one person exclaimed.

“It’s bomb – best drink for Xmas,” commented another. “It’s so good!! 10/10 🔥 🍏,” another said.

“Been sober for 10 months and might not make it to 11 thnx to this,” one person joked.

Now it seems like we’ll all have to roll up our sleeves, break out the shot glasses, and see for ourselves if Fireball has a hit or miss on their hands.
