During the offseason last year, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce kept a wildly busy schedule.

In addition to putting out weekly episodes of his “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, he filmed a season of “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?,” taped his cameo appearance in “Happy Gilmore 2,” and a multi-episode arc in FX’s “Grotesquerie.”

He also traversed the globe to support his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, amid her record-breaking “Eras Tour” performances. The All-Pro surprised fans by joining Swift on stage at Wembley Stadium, putting on a top hat and suit during “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”

However, Kelce is taking a much more low-key approach to this year’s offseason. While fans were looking forward to his third-annual Kelce Jam, originally scheduled for May 17, the 35-year-old shared some disappointing news on May 13.

Kelce announced on Tuesday, “Kelce Jam is looking ahead for 2026. Although we’ll mis being you this year, we’re taking this time to gear up for an even bigger, better, and more unforgettable experience next summer. Stay tuned for exciting updates and announcements.”

While fans were saddened by the news, they also supported the move to keep his focus on football before what could be his final season in the NFL. One fan commented, “😢 I knew it in my gut it wasn’t happening this year it’s ok he needs to focus on himself and enjoy his off time before football 🏈 season starts.” One person simply wrote, “Nooooooooo.”

An X user posted, “:( Was finally going to get to go this year!!!” Another fan added, “Not even he can do everything. I’m hoping it’s because he’s taking some of the things off his plate so he isn’t overloaded. Last year seemed it was a lot.”

Before the official Kelce Jam 2025 was announced, fans discovered the date via the official rules of the Garage Beer sweepstakes in February. Section 5 states in part, “Each Prize consists of two roundtrip tickets from the winner’s home airport, 1 night hotel accommodations on May 17, 2025, 2 VIP Tickets to Kelce Jam 2025 taking place on May 17, 2025.” That link has since been deleted.

Taylor Swift Gave Travis Kelce Advice Before Last Year’s Kelce Jam

Swift couldn’t attend Kelce Jam last year, as her sold-out “Eras” tour performed in Stockholm, Sweden that night, but she gave her boyfriend solid advice beforehand.

“Just go out and have fun,” Kelce told Page Six of Swift’s message ahead of the concert. Kelce emceed the live show, which featured performances by Lil Wayne, Diplo, and 2 Chainz. The 10-time Pro Bowler also took the stage to sing a karaoke version of AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long.”

Kelce shared a humbling statement before the concert, avoiding comparisons to Swift as a performer. “I’d be silly if I tried to imitate what she does,” he admitted.

“She wishes she was here, I know that,” Kelce added, per E! News, “but she’s got a lot of people she’s performing for… Taylor’s shows are unbelievable. If you haven’t been to them, you gotta try them.”

In March 2024, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce decided to call it a career and retire from the NFL. Kelce, who has now embarked on a broadcast career, revealed on Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast his current health status since retiring.

During the episode, Travis Kelce suggested that his older brother could play the tight end position if he wanted to. Jason Kelce then responded that he can no longer do so.

“You can play tight end,” Travis said.

“Can’t. No. My ankles, knees and back won’t let me. No. It’s getting bad,” Jason said.

When Travis Kelce refuted that notion, saying it was all in his head, the Super Bowl champion center discussed his current physical ailments that have appeared since retiring.

“That’s just your mind,” Travis said.

“I don’t know if it’s like—the moment you retire mentally, your body retires too,” Jason said. “Physically, because I’m just like. … I’m trying to lift weights, straining muscles. My ankle, playing golf last week, is inflamed. Can’t squat now because my ankle hurts. I can’t bench because I sprained my pecs.” (TS:15:15)

Jason said that golfing even caused ankle inflammation and that he can’t bench press any longer due to a pec injury. Even though his football playing days may be over, the former NFL center is still dealing with the physical repercussions of his 13-year career.

Jason Kelce revealed his goal during weight loss journey

Since retiring from the NFL, Jason Kelce has been on a weight loss journey. On Monday, Kelce was in attendance at the Amazon Upfront annual event that showcases all of the programming on the platform.

The former Philadelphia Eagles center told US Weekly that he was 295 pounds when he played in the NFL. He now weighs 270 pounds and is eyeing an optimal weight of between 250 and 265 pounds during his journey.

“I’m about 270 now, so I’ve lost 25 pounds. I don’t really want to get below 250. So, I think somewhere between 250 and 265. We’ll see where it goes,” Kelce told US Weekly.

Jason Kelce isn’t the only member of his family who has lost significant weight in recent months. His younger brother, Travis, also revealed at the event that he has lost 25 pounds this offseason as he prepares for his 13th NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs have released their 2025 NFL schedule and it looks like it will be a long season of travel and interference with prior commitments for Travis Kelce.

Kelce publicly revealed his dread at the upcoming schedule on the latest episode of the New Heights podcast when he revealed that the Chiefs would be opening their season against the Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

But now, the full scale of the Chiefs calendar has been revealed – and Kelce may not enjoy it at all.

Kelce previously complained about playing in Brazil’s heat and humidity on the podcast.

‘This isn’t out until Wednesday? Yeah, we’re definitely playing in Brazil,’ Kelce said. ‘I’ll be there, not to do a podcast. I’ll be playing football in the f***ing heat.’

Older brother Jason, whose former team Philadelphia Eagles played in Brazil last season, told Kelce the field was ‘atrocious’ for their 2024 game against Green Bay Packers.

Nine days after their game in Brazil, the Chiefs have a Super Bowl re-match against the Philadelphia Eagles at home in Week 2.

Two weeks after that re-match, the Chiefs have a gauntlet of high-powered teams to face.

Kansas City begins the toughest part of their schedule with their Week 4 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. They then travel to Jacksonville for Kelce’s birthday weekend.

Following that are three tough teams in a four-game stretch. The Chiefs host the Detroit Lions, Las Vegas Raiders, and Washington Commanders at home to finish out October before beginning November with a road trip to Orchard Park to take on the Buffalo Bills.

Since the loss in Super Bowl LIX to the Eagles, Kelce has kept a more low profile than the summer prior.

He’s made routine appearances on ‘New Heights’, but hasn’t been seen out and about as much.

Of course, that may be due to the fact that he isn’t globetrotting while following Swift on her Eras Tour like in 2024. They were seen in New York City in March going out for dinner, but have kept things relatively quiet compared to last year.

And it appears they were joined by multiple members of the Kelce family for the Mother’s Day meal, with Kylie and Jason Kelce joining alongside Travis and Jason’s mom, Donna.

Now, Kelce is set to head to Hollywood for a charity gala headlined by a number of other celebrities.

Kelce, 35, nearly retired in February in the aftermath of the Super Bowl defeat.

But he eventually announced he is coming back for at least one more season, partly because he didn’t want his glittering career to end on such a low note.

Speaking this week on ESPN, Schefter warned that the 2025 season could bring more divisional adversity for the reigning Super Bowl contenders than Mahomes has ever faced as Kansas City’s starter.

“This may just be the single toughest division and the most division challenges that Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have faced since he started as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback,” Schefter said. “I see huge division challenges all across the board for the Chiefs, making it difficult for them to finish in the type of spot with as many wins as they normally do.”

But Schefter’s assessment isn’t just hot air-it reflects the sweeping transformations unfolding across the AFC West. With fresh coaching hires, new quarterback dynamics, and hardened defenses, the division is no longer a cakewalk for the Chiefs.

The Los Angeles Chargers now feature former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, who has installed his trademark physical style and is re-centering the team around quarterback Justin Herbert.

Harbaugh’s impact is already evident in the Chargers’ more disciplined approach on both sides of the ball. In Las Vegas, Antonio Pierce is now officially in charge and has remade the Raiders into a team built on defensive toughness and veteran leadership.

The addition of quarterback Geno Smith is expected to push Aidan O’Connell and give the Raiders more consistency under center. Meanwhile, in Denver, first-round pick Bo Nix is coming off a strong rookie campaign where he led the Broncos to a 10-7 record and a playoff berth.

Head coach Sean Payton appears to have found his quarterback of the future, and the Broncos now look like a legitimate threat with stability and direction.

Mahomes is still widely regarded as the best quarterback in football, but even he may find the road more treacherous than ever. The Chiefs are adjusting to changes of their own.

While Travis Kelce remains a crucial piece, he’s entering the twilight of his career, and Kansas City’s wide receiver corps is still developing. Add in a Super Bowl hangover and an upgraded AFC West, and the Chiefs could be in for a season where every division matchup feels like a playoff battle.
