JOHNSON LAKE, Neb. (KSNB) – As Memorial Day weekend gets underway, a warning to people who may be out enjoying the holiday at Johnson Lake.

The Two Rivers Public Health Department announced Friday that Johnson Lake has tested positive for E. coli bacteria.

On May 19, Johnson Lake test results for the bacteria came back 1203 MPN (most probable number) per 100ml.

When bacterial levels test above 235 count per 100 ml, conditions are at a higher risk to human health when swimming.
