Aishwarya’s reaction followed a viral social media post by Tej Pratap in which he revealed a 12-year-long relationship with one Anushka Yadav, who appeared in the video as though she was married to him. Although he later deleted the post, it raised eyebrows within political circles. In response, Lalu issued a statement on social media on Sunday, disowning Tej Pratap and announcing his expulsion from the RJD.
Aishwarya, who married Tej Pratap in 2018, is the granddaughter of former Bihar CM Daroga Prasad Rai.
Their divorce case is currently pending in a family court in Patna.
In her first public reaction to the developments, Aishwarya said, “My life has been made a joke. What will happen by writing four lines on X? These people can never separate. Yesterday evening itself Rabri Devi must have gone to him wiping tears and said, ‘Stay calm for a few days, we will make everything right.’ Tejashwi is with his brother. The court has found them guilty of domestic violence, but with their influence they did not let it out in the public domain.
I was beaten and my food was stopped – but where was Laluji?”
She added that she would continue to fight for her rights. “Will Lalu separate his son just by writing four lines on X? When Tej Pratap has accepted this relationship for 12 years, then it is obvious that everyone in the family must have known about it beforehand,” she alleged.
Responding to Tejashwi’s statement that he did not like and could not tolerate Tej Pratap’s post involving Anushka, Aishwarya said, “He himself must have told the family to stay calm for now before everything is set right.”

Questioned the family’s stance on social justice, she said, “When I was being beaten in my in-laws’ house, where was their social justice? Why did they ruin my life? The whole family is involved. The talk of removing Tej Pratap from the party and the family is just a drama.”
In an emotional outburst, she said, “Laluji, when will you give me justice? Laluji did not say anything about me in seven years. To hide their son’s mistake, these people pointed fingers at my character.
When the skeletons came out of the family cupboard, they became the pioneers of social justice. They are not concerned about how many times their son got married. But now that this matter has come out before the elections, the drama of taking action is being staged as damage control.
”
Meanwhile, Lalu’s nephew Nagendra Prasad Rai came out in defence of Tej Pratap. He claimed Tej was innocent and had fallen victim to a “honeytrap” allegedly orchestrated by Anushka’s brother Akash Yadav and their parents, who, he alleged, were seeking a position in the RJD and financial gain.
“It was Akash for whom Tej Pratap had rebelled against the party’s state president Jagadanand Singh, after the latter removed him as president of the Chhatra Yuva RJD,” Nagendra told the reporters on Monday.
Lalu family leaves for Kolkata: Amid the ongoing controversy, Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi, and their daughter, MP Misa Bharti, left Patna for Kolkata on Monday. Sources said Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s wife, Rajshree Yadav, who is currently in Kolkata, is expecting their second child. Tejashwi, who already has a daughter named Katyayani, is already in Kolkata.
When asked about the controversy at Patna airport, Misa Bharti said, “Our father has taken the decision. We have nothing else to say.” On Aishwarya’s allegations, she added, “The matter is in court.”

“They did it for polls. This drama is for polls,” a visibly upset Rai, who is the granddaughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Daroga Prasad Rai, told reporters.
“I am sure Rabri Devi must have gone to him, wiped off his tears and assured him that she will make everything better. All of them are in this together,” she claimed.
Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday expelled his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav from the party and snapped all family ties with him, stating that his actions were “irresponsible” and not in accordance with public conduct.
The action followed a post on Tej Pratap’s Facebook page, which said he was “in a relationship for 12 years”. The post, however, was deleted a few hours later and he claimed on X that his Facebook page was hacked.
Aishwarya Rai alleged that she was kept in the dark about Tej Pratap’s alleged relationship with another woman. “Now everyone knows the truth. I want to know if everyone knew about it, then why did he marry me? Why did he ruin my life?”
“The 12-year secret is out now. If it was going on for so many years, then obviously, his family knew about it,” she said, referring to a now-deleted social media post by Tej Pratap.
Levelling serious charges against Bihar’s most prominent family, she said, “Lalu Prasad Yadav is now talking about social justice after expelling his son. But where was his sense of justice when I was thrown out of the house?”
Claiming that she had no idea about his alleged relationship, she said, “I got to know about all of this through the media. Even the fact that he was divorcing me, I got to know through the media. I had no idea about the relationship.”
Aishwarya Rai and Tej Pratap Yadav got married in a grand ceremony in May 2018, but their marriage fell apart within months. She had previously accused Tej Pratap and his family of domestic violence and mental harassment, leading to a legal battle that continues to this day. She claimed that the recent developments about the announcement of Tej’s relationship with a girl and his subsequent expulsion from the party were merely a “drama in the wake of the upcoming Assembly elections’. Tej (37) was disowned by his father Lalu, who also removed him from the RJD for six years.
Patna: Aishwarya Rai, ex-wife of expelled Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) politician Tej Pratap Yadav, spoke out in front of the media on Monday, accusing the party supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family of “destroying” her life.
She claimed that the recent developments about the announcement of Tej’s relationship with a girl and his subsequent expulsion from the party were merely a “drama in the wake of the upcoming Assembly elections”.
On Sunday, Tej (37) was disowned by his father Lalu, who also removed him from the RJD for six years, a day after he proclaimed on social media that he had been in a relationship with a girl identified as Anushka Yadav for the past 12 years.
“They all are indulging in a drama. This is just an eyewash. They have not separated. This is a drama they are doing because the Assembly elections are near. They are all one. Rabri Devi (Tej Pratap’s mother) must have gone to meet him yesterday and to wipe his tears,” Aishwarya alleged.
Tej married Aishwarya in May 2018 but moved to court for a divorce just after five months, alleging that she did not pay attention to him. The latter also walked out of his house, accusing her in-laws of harassing, torturing and beating her.
The granddaughter of former Bihar chief minister Daroga Prasad Rai and daughter of former minister Chandrika Roy, Aishwarya, claimed that the RJD chief’s family knew about Tej’s relationship yet got her married to him.
“Lalu ji, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav (Tej’s younger brother) and other members of the family must have known about his (Tej Pratap’s) relationship. I ask them why they destroyed my life when they knew it,” she added.
Revealing that members of Lalu’s family used to thrash and torture her, Aishwarya added that respect for women and social justice have no meaning for them.
“Lalu ji is citing social justice as the reason behind his (Tej Pratap’s) expulsion from the family and the party. Where was it when I was being beaten in their house? They blamed everything on me and tried to assassinate my character,” she questioned.
Aishwarya said she was seeking legal advice given the recent developments, but “will continue the fight in future”.
