‘Roti khao, varna meri goli to hai’: PM Modi to Pakistan
PM Modi asks people of Pakistan to choose between living in peace and facing India’s bullets. It was his first visit to his home state after Op Sindoor. He recalled that in his first public meeting in Bihar’s Madhubani district after Pahalgam massacre, he had declared he would destroy terror bases in Pakistan. “We waited for 15 days to see if Pakistan would take action against terrorism, but maybe terrorism is their bread and butter,” he said.
Eat Roti in Peace or Face Goli: PM to Pak
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urges people of Pakistan to shun terrorism and live a peaceful life or else be ready to face Indian bullets. “Terrorism is a way of making money for your (Pakistan) government and Army. Live a happy and peaceful life and have your meal. Otherwise, my bullet is there for you,” he said. In Dahod, the Prime Minister inaugurated the locomotive manufacturing plant of the Indian Railways. He also flagged off Vande Bharat Express between Veraval and Ahmedabad and an express train between Valsad and Dahod stations. He laid the foundation stone and inaugurated multiple development projects worth over Rs 24,000 crores in Dahod. He said that Pakistan’s only aim is to hate India and think of ways to harm it, while our nation has set goals of removing poverty and bringing about economic development. The Prime Minister said the decisive action was a direct fulfilment of the responsibility entrusted to him by the nation’s citizens when they made him “pradhan sevak”
Addressing a public meeting after laying the foundation stone and inaugurating multiple development projects worth over Rs 53,400 crores in Gujarat’s Bhuj, Prime Minister Modi urged the people of Pakistan to understand that their government and Army were supporting terrorism for their own benefit, and so they must come forward to end the menace which was ruining their lives.
“Terrorism is a way of making money for your (Pakistan) government and Army. The people of Pakistan must come forward to end terrorism. Live a happy and peaceful life and have your meal. Otherwise, my bullet is there for you (Sukh chain ki zindagi jio, roti khao, varna meri goli to hai hee),” Mr Modi said in a message to the people across the border.
The Prime Minister told the gathering that after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, he waited for 15 days hoping that Pakistan will take action on terrorism, but it seems it is their bread and butter. “On the night of May 9, when Pakistan tried to attack civilians, our military attacked with double force and decimated their air bases,” he said.
Earlier, speaking at a public meeting in Gujarat’s Dahod, Mr Modi said that “Operation Sindoor” was not just a military action but a reflection of India’s values and emotions. Prime Minister Modi also said that Pakistan’s only aim is to hate India and think of ways to harm it, while our nation has set goals of removing poverty and bringing about economic development.
In Dahod, the Prime Minister inaugurated the locomotive manufacturing plant of the Indian Railways. This plant will produce electric locomotives of 9,000 HP for domestic purposes and for export. He also flagged off the first electric locomotive built at the plant. Thereafter, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone and inaugurated multiple development projects worth over Rs 24,000 crores in Dahod. The projects include rail projects and various projects of the Gujarat government. He also flagged off Vande Bharat Express between Veraval and Ahmedabad and an express train between Valsad and Dahod stations.
Addressing a public meeting in Gujarat’s Dahod, the Prime Minister emphasized that India’s cultural values demand action against injustice, and said: “Operation Sindoor was not just a military action but a reflection of India’s values and emotions.”
“How can India and Modi sit quiet after such a terrorist attack?” the Prime Minister asked, eliciting a thunderous cheer from the crowd.
”Anyone who dares to erase the ‘sindoor’ from the foreheads of our sisters will surely be eliminated,” he said, adding that terrorists may not have imagined in their wildest dreams how difficult it would be to fight against Narendra Modi.
The Prime Minister said the decisive action was a direct fulfilment of the responsibility entrusted to him by the nation’s citizens when they made him “pradhan sevak” on May 26, 2014, and he had granted complete autonomy to the three wings of the armed forces, enabling them to execute actions unseen globally for decades.
Noting that terrorists had no idea of the consequences of their actions, recalling the brutality of killing a father in front of his children, he said such images still ignite anger across the nation, as 140 crore Indians were challenged by terrorism.
Mr Modi declared that he fulfilled his responsibility as the nation’s leader, giving full freedom to India’s armed forces, who then executed an operation unseen in decades.
He mentioned that nine major terror hubs across the border were identified and destroyed in 22 minutes, and said that Pakistan’s military attempted retaliation but was decisively defeated by Indian forces.
The Prime Minister reiterated his deep respect for the valor of India’s armed forces, saluting their courage and dedication from the sacred land of Dahod.
Criticising Pakistan, the Prime Minister said: “The neighbouring country, that came into existence after Partition, lives on hatred for India. It only wants to harm Bharat. However, India’s goals are to remove poverty, bring about economic development and become a developed nation.”
The Prime Minister mentioned that a developed India can only be built when both its armed forces and economy are strong. He stated that the government was continuously working in this direction, ensuring national security and economic growth go hand in hand.
The PM, who on Monday (May 26) completed 11 years in office, also highlighted that India had surpassed Japan to become the world’s fourth-largest economy and asked Pakistani citizens to mull where their country stands.
“While India believes in tourism, Pakistan considers terrorism as tourism, which is very dangerous for the world. I want to ask the people of Pakistan — what they have achieved? Today, India is the 4th largest economy in the world. But what is your situation? Those who promoted terrorism ruined your future,” emphasised Mr Modi.
Must step forward to free your country from disease of terror: PM to Pak youth
PM Narendra Modi said it is for the youth of the neighbouring country to step forward and “free Pakistan from the disease of terrorism’ Modi was addressing a public meeting at Bhuj in Gujarat’s Kutch district, bordering Pakistan. Modi recalled the success of the military action in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, and said: “I want to ask the people of Pakistan, what did you achieve? India has become the world’s fourth largest economy, what’s the state of your country? Who destroyed the future of your children, who forced you to wander around helplessly? Een atankwaad ke aakaon ne (the bosses of these terrorists),” he said. He said that Operation Sindoor, which “reduced terror bases to dust,” was a mission to protect humanity and end terrorism. “Our policy is of zero tolerance against terrorism. Whoever will try to make Indians bleed will get a response in their language,’ he added.
Addressing a public meeting at Bhuj in Gujarat’s Kutch district, bordering Pakistan, Modi said, “Pakistan ko aatank ki bimari se mukt karne ke liye, Pakistan ki awaam ko aage aana hoga. Pakistan ke naujawaano ko aage aana hoga. Sukh, chaain ki zindagi jiyo, roti khao, varna meri goli toh hai hi (To free Pakistan from the disease of terrorism, Pakistan’s people, their youth have to step forward. Live peacefully, eat roti or else my bullet is there).”

“Your government and your army are supporting terrorists. Terrorism has become a source to earn money for your government and army. Pakistan’s youth will have to decide, Pakistan’s children will have to decide, if this path is right for them. Is it doing any good for them,” he said. “They are creating dangers in your lives, destroying your future, pushing you into darkness.”

“India’s direction is very clear. India has chosen the path of development, peace and prosperity. I am confident that the spirit of Kutch will inspire to make India a developed country,” Modi, who inaugurated multiple development projects worth over Rs 53,400 crore in Bhuj, said.
On a two-day visit to Gujarat, the Prime Minister said, “India’s war is with the terrorism across border. Those hands that are upbringing terrorism, our enmity is with them.”
“Our policy is of zero tolerance against terrorism. Operation Sindoor has further made this policy clear. Whoever will try to make Indians bleed will get a response in their language,” he said.
“Operation Sindoor is a mission to protect humanity and end terrorism. After April 22 (when terrorists killed 26 people in Pahalgam), I never hid it. In a public meeting in Bihar, I had announced that I will reduce the terror bases to dust. We waited for 15 days for Pakistan to act against terrorism but perhaps terrorism is their bread and butter. When they did not do anything, I gave a free hand to our forces [to act],” Modi said.

“We attacked precisely. This shows how capable and disciplined our forces are. We showed the world that while sitting here we can hit and ruin terrorists’ locations and headquarters,” the Prime Minister said.
Referring to the 1971 war when women from Bhuj showed exemplary courage and rebuilt a runway that was destroyed by Pakistan within 72 hours, he said, “On May 9 night drones were seen along the Kutch borders. They thought Modi is from Gujarat but they did not know, remember 1971, these brave women who came here, they defeated Pakistan…. I am fortunate that these mothers of 1971 have blessed me and not only this they have gifted me a sindoor plant. This plant will be planted at the PM House. This sindoor plant will be developed into a huge tree.”
At a separate public meeting in Dahod, where he inaugurated the 9,000 HP Locomotive Rolling Stock Workshop, the Prime Minister said, Pakistan’s “only goal” is to pursue “enmity and hatred” for India. He said that Operation Sindoor, which “reduced nine terror bases to dust in 22 minutes”, was not mere action of the Armed Forces but an “expression of India’s emotion” towards protecting its motherland since time immemorial.
Invoking the sacrifices of freedom fighters of Dahod, who had supported Tatya Tope and Govind Guru of Mangadh, he said, “Dahod is the land of devotion and sacrifice. This region exemplifies our sacrifice for the protection of Mother India and humanity… It (protecting the land) is in India’s values. So tell me, whatever the terrorists did in Pahalgam, could India or Modi have remained silent after that?”

“If anyone tries to wipe off the sindoor of our sisters, they will be wiped out as a definite consequence. So, Operation Sindoor is not just an action of the Armed Forces, it is the expression of our historic values and our emotions of (protecting the motherland).”
Referring to a roadshow he held in Vadodara earlier in the day, where women in red sarees and with vermillion on foreheads felicitated him to celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor, Modi said, “The women (in Vadodara) chose me to be a representative to convey their congratulations to the Armed Forces for Operation Sindoor… Just think of it, the terrorists killed fathers in front of their children. It boils our blood to see those pictures. The terrorists challenged 1.40 billion Indians and so, Modi did exactly what the country and you chose me to be your leader for…”
Stating that the terror targets in Pakistan were meticulously identified and “reduced to dust”, he said, “What Modi did was to give a free hand to the three Armed forces and in turn, they did what no one had seen in several decades… We tracked down nine biggest terrorist bases across the border, confirmed their address and dealings… And in response to the game they (the terrorists) played on April 22, we took 22 minutes on the night of May 6 to reduce them (the terror bases) to dust. Flustered by India’s action, when the Pakistani armed forces attempted the misadventure to attack India, our armed forces taught them a lesson too…”
In his address, Modi said that after taking oath as the Prime Minister for the first time on May 26, 2014, the country took “decisions that were unimaginable and unprecedented, breaking shackles that were decades old to step forward in all sectors by increasing manufacturing and reducing exports”.
