In Maharashtra’s Palghar district, Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik chaired a review meeting and directed local authorities to activate COVID-19 response protocols. Key measures include:
Disinfection of public spaces and eateries
Setting up COVID care centres in every taluka
Ensuring sanitation in schools ahead of post-summer reopening
Public advisories on hygiene, handwashing, and use of sanitizers
The administration is also ramping up efforts in agriculture support, malnutrition prevention, and water supply infrastructure as part of a broader disaster-preparedness plan in light of recent unseasonal rainfall and rising infections.
While daily case additions remain significantly lower than past peaks, the emergence of new clusters and a modest rise in fatalities have prompted health departments to revisit containment and hygiene measures. Citizens are being urged to follow basic precautions, particularly those with comorbidities, the elderly, and individuals returning from high-risk travel zones.
