Departing from London Victoria station, these journeys will whisk passengers to destinations such as Oxford, Canterbury, and Bath, as well as historic estates like Highclere Castle and prestigious events like the Grand National horse race.

The series kicks off with chef Phil Howard, the culinary force behind the One-Starred Elystan Street in London, who will present a menu of French-inspired dishes. Though he admits to never having cooked on a train, Howard is ready to embrace the challenge while staying true to his signature style. “My cooking is about finding the perfect harmony in simple flavors with perfect seasonality,” he explains.

Currently, Universal Orlando is offering the 2025 Military Freedom Pass Promotional Ticket, where eligible service members can Choose from 2-Park or 3-Park options starting at $210.

Costco occasionally offers Universal Orlando packages online. Any theme park tickets you see online are sporadic.

You can check your local store’s theme park tickets section, but there haven’t been any in ours for years. This is because Costco now focuses on theme park vacation packages where they can bundle tickets and a hotel together for members.

6. AAA Discount

AAA members are eligible to save at Universal Orlando Resort, on multi-day tickets, annual passes, and sometimes Universal Express passes when purchased in advance through your regional AAA club’s website or the national AAA Tickets portal.

While some AAA branches might still sell tickets , purchasing at the park gate typically offers only minimal savings ($4-$5 on select tickets). You’ll want to compare the final AAA price against Universal’s online advance purchase rates and other authorized sellers.

Beyond tickets, a common perk is a 10% discount on select food and merchandise at participating locations within the Universal Orlando theme parks and CityWalk. To receive this discount, members need to present their valid AAA membership card at the time of purchase.

7. Awards Points

Under certain circumstances, you may be eligible to use award points to buy Universal Orlando tickets, including American Express, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Hilton Honors, Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards, IHG Rewards Club, and Regal Crown Club.

Universal Orlando Tickets & More Theme Park FAQ

There is a lot to consider when planning your next Universal Studios Orlando vacation. To make it easier, I’ve compiled answers to some of your most frequently asked questions about the parks so that you can enjoy the endless awesome.

Does Universal Studios offer fast passes? Yes, the park offers a fast pass called the Universal Express Pass, which lets you skip the lines on some of the most popular rides and attractions. This pass is an add-on to your regular admission ticket. What are the park hours? Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure are open 365 days a year and typically open at 9 a.m. Closing times vary. Universal’s Volcano Bay opens at 10 a.m., but always check the online calendar before going because this water theme park is not open daily (but is open on most days). Does the park offer annual passes? The park offers four kinds of passes: Premier Annual Pass, Preferred Annual Pass, Power Annual Pass, and Seasonal Pass. Each pass offers a full year of admission and additional discounts and perks at each of the parks. How much is Universal Orlando parking? General parking starts at $32. RV and bus parking costs $42, and prime parking is $50 – $60. There are two parking structures available for the parks. Can I bring food into the park? You can bring bottled water, snacks that do not require heating, baby formula, and meals for guests with special dietary restrictions or medical conditions. Can you leave Universal Studios and come back on the same day? Within the same day, you can leave the park and reenter the same park. If you have a multi-day Base (one-park-per-day) pass, you can leave the park, but you cannot visit a different park on that same day. However, if you have a park-to-park pass, you can leave, enter, and re-enter any park you’d like. Are Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure connected? Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure are separate parks but are connected via the Harry Potter-themed Hogwarts Express. You need a Park-to-Park ticket enabling same-day access to both parks to ride the Hogwarts Express between the parks. Do you need a ticket to go to CityWalk? No, it’s free to enter Universal Citywalk. And it opens earlier than the parks and closes later than the parks, so it is an excellent place to wander and dine on your next universal vacation. Where can I get $45 Universal tickets? There are a couple of sites and travel agencies advertising $45 Universal tickets 2024, and I would caution you about using them. I called one and was given information that, as a travel advisor myself, raises red flags. These tickets are part of an accommodation package and can’t be booked separately. They asked me for dates, and I gave a mid-March date. The quote I was given was $252 per person for two-day park-to-park tickets, which is not $45 per person for a one-day ticket. I had to purchase a stay at an unnamed hotel, and there was some mention of a gift card rebate. No, thank you. What about Florida Welcome Center $69 Universal tickets? The $69 Universal Orlando tickets at official Florida Welcome Centers were a special deal aimed at Florida residents. These Welcome Centers (be careful of the unofficial centers) are located along interstate highways entering Florida, such as I-75 and I-95 from Georgia and I-10 from Alabama. We called these three centers, and as of the time of this writing, they were not selling tickets. Can I buy Universal Studios tickets $49 deals? The $49 Universal Studios Orlando ticket offer appears to be a promotional or special deal available through certain ticket outlets like the Orlando Ticket Office. We could not trigger this price, but they are offering two tickets for $79. What’s the catch? Well, you need to visit Westgate Resorts and sit through a 90-minute presentation at a designated time and fit specific demographic and resident criteria. Yes, these are timeshares. There are easier ways to get Universal Studios promotions.

I am a theme park person. So when I found out that Universal was opening a new park, Universal Epic Universe, with areas dedicated to Nintendo, Harry Potter, How to Train Your Dragon and the classic Universal Monsters, I couldn’t wait to get the chance to visit. I gobbled up every piece of news about it as if it were my own personal Daily Prophet.

Epic Universe finally opened on May 22, and I was lucky enough to spend three full days in the park. For the first two, I was an invited media guest touring the lands before the big debut. Then, after it opened to the public, I returned with my Nintendo-expert 9-year-old and Universal Monster-loving husband in tow, experiencing the park like any paying customer. The crowds were low, the heat was high and between the three days I was able to do everything — every ride, every show, every experience — multiple times. For theme park fans planning a visit, here’s what I think is important to know before they go.

For starters, guests don’t need three days to explore the land like I did. When I returned with my family, we were lucky in that it wasn’t mobbed with excited park-goers — we went during the week and avoided the weekend crowds — and did pretty much everything we wanted to do by dinnertime. We stuck around until park close to see Dark Universe at night, and do a couple of our favorites a second time, but the extra time felt like a bonus.

Depending on crowd levels, which have increased since my opening-weekend trip, visitors can probably get it done in a day, or in two days to really ensure getting on the most-desired rides (i.e., Battle at the Ministry and Mine-Cart Madness) or to circle back on some favorites.

Speaking of rides, they’re grouped into four themed lands, each accessed through its own “portal” to each world from the main area, known as Celestial Park. Once visitors pass through each portal, the music changes, the theming kicks in, and visitors really feel like they’ve been transported to another world. Here’s a land-by-land breakdown of what to expect.

Super Nintendo World

A good way to cool down is with the DK Crush Float: The cup is filled with pineapple soda, then a waffle-cone bowl is placed on top and filled with banana and pineapple soft serve topped with star-shaped sprinkles, toffee and caramel popcorn. They punch a straw through the waffle bowl so diners can drink the soda while eating the soft serve. It can be purchased with or without the souvenir barrel mug, and it’s definitely big enough to share!

Most of the land is dedicated to Super Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong, but, like at the Super Nintendo World in California, there are hidden Pikmin throughout. (My favorite: They’re included in a painted wall mural in the Mine-Cart Madness queue. A couple of them look like they’re trying to avoid a barrel — but there are a couple who succumbed to it!)

Insider Tip: I asked the ride attendant how to get the most coins possible in Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, and he said the key was drifting. When the ride prompts drivers to turn the steering wheel, keep it turned for as long as possible and hear the coins rack up!

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic

Unlike Diagon Alley in Universal Studios and Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure, the Ministry of Magic is not supposed to be a re-creation of England (mostly). The land takes its cues from the Fantastic Beasts movies, and situates itself in 1920s Paris, where wizards and witches can use their “baguettes magiques” to cast spells. There are two attractions in this land: the big Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry ride, and a show, Le Cirque Arcanus. For a magical visit:

Dark Universe

Universal The Burning Blade Tavern is an excellent place to meet monster-hunters.

This portal transports visitors to the gothic village of Darkmoor, where Victoria Frankenstein, the great-great-granddaughter of Henry Frankenstein, wants to assert dominance over all monsters to clear her family’s name. There are two rides in this land — the dark Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment and spinning Curse of the Werewolf coaster — plus the Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience for those who want to transform into a creature of the night. How to keep your wits about you:

Don’t skip Monsters Unchained. While talking to people throughout my days in the park, everyone listed this ride as a highlight for its unique mix of screen projections and animatronics. It’s worth it just for the spooky tour of the Frankenstein Manor alone. Also, since it’s a continuously loading ride, the line is always moving.

Darkmoor is an underrated spot for snacks. De Lacey’s Cottage, for my money, has the best bites in the park (no vampire pun intended). The Warm Hearted Cinnamon Bites (cinnamon sugar donut bites with cream cheese icing) and the Frank & Friends Pretzel (a giant pretzel in the shape of a Frankenstein’s monster) were both hits with my party when they were monstrously hungry.

Insider Tip: One of the coolest features of Dark Universe is the Burning Blade tavern, with a spinning windmill that periodically catches on fire. Want to make sure to see it ablaze? Listen for bells — when they ring out throughout the village of Darkmoor, there’s a couple minutes to run to the windmill before it lights up.

How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk

Universal Isle of Berk is a good place to cool down on a water ride.

Filled with Vikings and dragons, the Isle of Berk is one of the most extensive lands in Epic Universe. There are three rides here — family coaster Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, the soaring Dragon Racer’s Rally and the get-soaking-wet Fyre Drill — plus a show, The Untrainable Dragon, a Viking Training Camp playground area and a Toothless meet-and-greet. New Vikings need to know:

They’re one of the most Instagrammed dishes in Epic Universe, but I’ve seen them defeat more than one hungry Viking. And it’s easy to see why: An everything bagel-esque seasoned bread bowl is filled with heaping piles of macaroni and cheese, than topped with either goldfish, chicken, or “PB&J” (pork, bacon and jam). It’s … a lot. Bring a tribe, or be prepared to have a ton of leftovers.

Insider Tip: Need a quick cool down? There’s an ice dragon by Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel that occasionally blows a big, frosty cloud onto guests. Even for those who want to stay warm, it’s fun stand around it and watch unsuspecting visitors get blasted.

Celestial Park

The centerpiece of Epic Universe, Celestial Park is said to put the “park” back in “theme park,” with serene fountains and lots of flowers. But not just a passageway from portal to portal, it’s also a destination in and of itself, with twin coaster Stardust Racers, the Constellation Carousel and the Astronomica water playground. Stellar travelers should be aware:

During the day, when the sun shines through the stained glass in the dome, it projects colorful images of lunar phases on the ground. At night, the constellations twinkle and globes light up. Try purple pizza. Sadly, while three days was enough to check out all the rides, I wasn’t able to eat at every single restaurant and quick-service counter. (I only have one stomach!) But most of those I spoke with said they enjoyed the meals in Celestial Park the most. (Atlantic came up over and over again as a favorite.) The best meal I had was at Pizza Moon. I was particularly fond of the Pizza Lunare, which comes with roasted garlic béchamel, fromage de lune, ricotta, pancetta and garlic confit, all on a purple ube crust. It really did look like something from another world!

Seek out the Coke Freestyle machine. Some of the different lands in Epic Universe have unique, portal-specific flavors in the Coke Freestyle machines: Celestial Spritz in Celestial Park, Dragon Splash in Isle of Berk and Screaming Berry in Dark Universe. The Celestial Spritz, with an overall citrusy flavor, was amazing. I’m actually sad I can’t get it from my office cafeteria.

Insider Tip: Green or yellow, on the back of the last car on each Stardust Racers train, there’s a nod to another Universal movie — one that sadly no longer has a ride in any of the parks. I won’t spoil what it is, but it needs 1.21 gigawatts of electrical power to function.

The Hotels

Universal Behind Celestial Park is the Grand Helios Hotel, which boasts its own entrance into Epic Universe.

During my visit, I was able to either stay at or tour the three hotels closest to Epic Universe: I was hosted at Stella Nova during the media event, I stayed at Terra Luna on my own dime with my family and I took a gander at the Grand Helios Hotel.

Of those, the Grand Helios has some obvious advantages — but is also a big splurge. It’s situated right on the grounds of Epic Universe and has its own, dedicated entrance for guests. There are also multi-room options available, including the How to Train Your Dragon suites, which have rooms with two twin beds each done up in fun Viking décor. On the top floor, Bar Helios offers an amazing view of the park — it might be worth snagging a reservation even if you don’t stay there.

For a more affordable option, Stella Nova and Terra Luna offer everything a family needs to crash after a full day at a theme park. They each have an on-site café, a big pool, a small arcade, a Universal store where you can get Power-Up Bands before you head to the park, a room to drop off luggage (so you can get the most out of early theme-park hours even if your room isn’t ready) and a desk where you can ask about getting express passes or upgraded tickets. The biggest advantage is the location: The shuttle ride to Epic Universe was around five minutes, and shuttles came pretty frequently. (It takes longer to get to CityWalk, Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure.) I thought Terra Luna had a slight advantage over Stella Nova — the menu in the café was a little better — but they were both good options for weary Vikings, gamers, monsters or wizards.

CASHING IN I saved over £80 on an epic No7 haul at Boots thanks to an easy hack – it took minutes and I even got freebies too

A WOMAN has shared how managed to get a staggering £80 off her Boots haul of No7 products – and anyone can too.

The beauty lover showed off her large haul which should have cost her around £130, but she only paid £57.

She managed to walk away with an entire skincare product range that included retinol, day cream, serum and eye gel.

Taking to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, she wrote: “Boots have an amazing offer on with No7

“Got all this for £57.85. Should have been over £100. Saved £80.87.”

She then explained how she managed to get the deal – and how other shoppers can too.

First up, the woman explained how No7 products were currently on three for two.

Next up she applied a £10 off voucher for No7, following by taking advantage of a deal which was spend “£60 get 25 per cent off.”

The Boots shopper concluded: “Also was given 2 little tester pots for free. Absolute bargain.”

It’s not the only way people have been getting freebies or bargains at Boots.

Boots ‘free’ points

A beauty lover has revealed a simple hack to getting free perfume or products at Boots with a little-known scheme.

Jade, who posts under @jade.wan, shared how all you need to do is return old products to the high street retailer to recycle, and you can increase your points.

In a video which has over 8,000 likes, Jade showed how she had increased her points from 5,180 (which is worth £51.80) to 1,0059 (£100.59).

The Boots shopper wrote: “Forever thanking the TikTok girlies that put me on the Boots recycling scheme.”

Boots Recycling Scheme aims to “turn empties into opportunities.”

It means you can earn points for your empty beauty, health, wellness and dental products, from any brand, that can’t be recycled at home.

First you need to download the Recycle at Boots app and then you need to scan your old products to check they are valid.

The website states: “Log your empties in the app and allow up to 24h for validation.”

Once any items have been approved, you can then take them into a Boots store and scan the QR on the deposit box.

It adds: “Recycle five empties or more, and spend £10 in-store to collect 500 Advantage Card Points.”

Once you have recycled your items, you have three days to spend the £10 in-store to get the points reward.

However, once you have the points, you can save them up to spend on a larger purchase, such as perfume.

Jade said she uploads photos of empty toiletries, make-up, and old tooth brushes to see if they are eligible, and they don’t have to initially been bought from Boots.

The added bonus is packaging then gets recycled into new items such as playground equipment or garden furniture.
