Yelp is a great go-to for ratings, reviews, and rankings when it comes to food joints, and we drew directly from the site’s top 10 best-rated Portland burger restaurants to make the search for tonight’s dinner a little easier.

Positively Portland

Portland Burger

Portland Burger, located in downtown on SW 2nd Avenue, sits at number one on Yelp’s site with 781 reviews and an average of 4.5 stars.

“We’ve got burgers on the grill, the music turned up, and the beer flowing,” Portland Burgers’ website reads. The diner’s interior features wall-mounted guitars and painted murals, as well as a large communal dining counter taking up the center of the space, speaking to their goal of using burgers to “facilitate relationships,” according to their site.

The restaurant caters to a variety of guests, with everything from a deep fried chicken sandwich, called “Hot Chick” on their menu, to their “Amanda” impossible burger, a vegan option.

For a higher price — compared to others on this list — their OG Burger will run you $15.99. The OG includes a 1/3 pound beef patty, bacon, onion rings as well as onion, and Portland Burger’s house sauce.

Just two blocks from the 99W and the Willamette waterfront, this is a great stop for lunch or dinner on a summer day spent by the riverside.

Hit The Spot!

On the other side of the Willamette, on SE Morrison Street, Hit The Spot! comes in second on Yelp’s list.

Hit The Spot!’s website advertises their burgers as “’farm-to-table fast-food,’” emphasizing quality and ethically-sourced ingredients. Hit The Spot! was founded by the Sivers family and the business began as a stall at a farmer’s market, became a food truck, and finally transitioned to a full-fledged restaurant in 2022.

Pricing-wise, they sit somewhere in the middle, with their classic cheeseburger selling for $9.99.

Yelp ratings are overwhelmingly positive, with users mentioning the “excellent service and food.”

Pleasure Burger

Pleasure Burger on SW Alder Street is just a block and a half away from Pioneer Courthouse Square. While it sits at third on Yelp’s best burger list, Pleasure Burger also offers hotdogs, chicken, and parmesan waffle fries.

In terms of price, Pleasure Burger’s titular hamburger comes out to $10 even, with choices involving more ingredients — their Peanut Butter Bacon burger, for example — at $12.

PDX Sliders

A Portland-based “chain” restaurant with three locations across the metropolitan area, comes in fourth on the list, Yelp specifically featuring their SE Morrison Street location. Between the Central Eastside and Buckman areas, PDX sliders is a must-try for Portland visitors and locals alike.

The menu includes burgers named after neighborhoods all across the city, with their Broadway slider featuring braised pork, peppers, and baby arugula, and their Sellwood boasting a beef patty, bacon, aioli and caramelized onion on a brioche bun.

A single slider will cost between $6 and $8, with their full-sized burgers costing between $13 and $15.

Yelp reviewers mention the “truly awesome burgers AND fries” and say the siders are “perfectly-pried and juicy.” One commenter claimed PDX Sliders to be “one of the best burger spots in the country.”

Bless Your Heart Burgers

Yelp’s no. 5 burger spot, Bless Your Heart Burgers, is “built on love,” their website reads. Located close to the Concordia area, it would be a perfect stop for lunch before a long flight out of PDX.

A self-proclaimed “burger connoisseur” on Yelp said, “Everything from the bun, to the patties, and overall was top notch.”

Killer Burger Downtown PDX

Killer Burger, a PNW chain, has locations across Portland, but their Downtown PDX restaurant in particular has claimed a spot on Yelp’s best burger leaderboard.

Their ratings sit at a solid 4.0 average, with most guests satisfied. Users mention the large size of the burgers, with one saying, “you won’t leave hungry and burgers are priced moderately I feel.” They also note speedy service and good vibes from staff members.

Killer Burger offers three burger sizes: pint, original and double. They also have chicken sandwiches, as well as a meatless patty option for vegetarians.

Sandy-O’s

Sandy-O’s markets itself as a “neighborhood sandwich joint,” appealing to the small-business-centered area of Maywood Park. Like Bless Your Heart Burgers, Sandy O’s is located a short drive from PDX, perfect for a pre-flight or an exhausted post-flight lunch.

Sandy O’s has been in Portland since 2023, so it still finds itself fairly new in the neighborhood. Climbing onto Yelp’s leaderboard after such a short time is certainly a testament to their quality, at least according to some Yelp commenters. In her rating, user Julie V. said, “The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.”

Lo’s Burgers

Located in the Humboldt neighborhood just a three-minute drive form Irving Park, is Lo’s Burgers. A Mexican-American owned food cart, Lo’s has been serving NE Portland since their first pop-up event in 2021.

The food cart’s founder, Lo, posted on Instagram in 2022 saying, “Experiencing the city I grew up in respond to my creation with open arms, and foster such abundant growth for me, has truly been a dream come true.”

Their classic Lo’s Burger goes for $7, with a gluten-free option being served in a tortilla. They also offer a “Vegan Lo’s” as well as Mexican-inspired sides such as esquites.

Yelp users have pleasant remarks about the cart, noting that the french fries were “fried to perfection,” as one put it.

Sure Shot Burger

Sure Shot is a burger stand located in NE Portland, nearby Concordia. The online menu, merch, and stand signs all feature retro-like fonts and designs, bringing a playful vibe to the burger joint.

Sure Shot’s menu is limited but exciting, with beef as well as vegan options available, and their Sure Shot Cheeseburger can cost between $6 ad $10 depending on the number of patties selected.

One Yelp user said, “that Sure Shot Burger was the best smashed burger I’ve had in my life as of 2/21/2025,” a recently-written testament to the burger’s quality.

Wolf’s Head Burger

An East Portland staple with its retro feel, Mortal Kombat arcade game, and red gingham tablecloths, Wolf’s Head Burger is a must-visit off the East side of the Hawthorne Bridge.

Wolf’s Head’s monthly specials are nothing to miss out on — experimental, like their Pimiento Mac and Cheese burger from January 2024, or their Shishito Bonito burger available this June.

In addition to burgers, Wolf’s Head also offers milkshakes, a classic burger pairing, and cheese curds, a “quintessential Midwest classic,” their website says.
