LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – Community groups within Comanche County gathered at the Great Plains Coliseum Annex Saturday for a free health expo.

The event was hosted by the Lawton Noon Lions Club with booths at the expo included necessities for all ages including medical screenings, presentations on alternate ways to take care of the body, free hair cuts and even clothes.

Group members from the event hope that those who were at the expo are able improve their health and well-being, bettering their lives as a whole.

Hitzel Gonzales helped with the expo and says taking care of yourself is a top priority, especially around this time of year.

“We all need to take care of our bodies,” Gonzales stated. “If we don’t have that guidance, especially from the beginning as children, then if we have that knowledge it’s easier for us because we have the discipline already in place in performing the exercise, drinking enough water, especially right now that it’s so hot and humid.”
