HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – A travel organization is hosting a tourism conference in Grand Island.

The Midwest Travel Network is an organization that works to connect travel content creators with influencers such as Instagram users, podcasters, authors, bloggers and destination partners to help promote tourism mostly in the Midwest.

The organization will be holding a conference in Grand Island to bring national attention and an economic boost to the area. The conference will be running from June 12 through June 14 and will feature a variety of speakers and activities.

Co-owner of The Midwest Travel Network, Lisa Trudell, says that they choose places that aren’t typical conference destinations.

“We look for the places that are able to give us a story that to give to our content creators and we’ve done that pretty well so far, I think, in the places that we’ve chosen, Grand Island being a great example,” Trudell said.

Trudell also stressed how it’s important to keep up with social media platforms, as they are always changing and evolving.

“That’s one reason why we keep having our conferences. It’s a different avenue where we still need to continue to learn and grow and figure out this whole thing because it keeps changing,” Trudell said.
