Outagamie County’s breakfast on the farm returns to J-Springs Dairy
The 2025 Outagamie County Breakfast on the Farm kicked off this Sunday, at J-Springs Dairy in Freedom. Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to noon, rain or shine. On the menu are classic farm breakfast staples: scrambled eggs, pancakes, yogurt, Manderfield’s cinnamon rolls, and frozen custard. Guests could take part in farm tours, visit animal exhibits, and talk directly with local farmers, veterinarians, and nutritionists.
The Springstroh family — Judy, Amber, Jay, Tami, Sam and Gracie — is hosting this year’s event, welcoming visitors to their farm for a morning of food, fun, and agricultural education. Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to noon, rain or shine.
“We just want to promote dairy,” said co-owner Judy Springstroh. “It’s very important that people know where their food comes from—not just the grocery store, but the farm.”
On the menu are classic farm breakfast staples: scrambled eggs, pancakes, yogurt, Manderfield’s cinnamon rolls, and frozen custard from Culver’s. A wide selection of cheeses from local factories were also be available.
But the experience goes beyond the plate. Guests could take part in farm tours, visit animal exhibits, and talk directly with local farmers, veterinarians, and nutritionists.
“4-H has a stand, and our nutritionist is here so people can learn a lot about what happens on the farm,” said Springstroh. “They get to see the inner circle—not just, ‘oh, that’s a farm.’”
Tom Byer of Black Creek, a longtime attendee, says the event is about both the food and the people.
“The food is always good,” said Byer. “But I come to see folks I haven’t seen in years. And it’s a reminder that the ice cream people are eating here comes from these cows.”
Admission was $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 11. Kids four and under ate for free.
