Two arrested in Rochester for brutal Christmas robbery
Brucewayne Beaman and Guy Mustgray II attempted to rob a man in his 60’s. Police said they carried what appeared to be a handgun and an edged weapon. They beat the man for several minutes while stealing out of his pockets. The man was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with head and upper body trauma.
Brucewayne Beaman and Guy Mustgray II attempted to rob a man in his 60’s shortly after midnight on December 25, according to investigators. Police said they carried what appeared to be a handgun and an edged weapon, then beat the man for several minutes while stealing out of his pockets.
The man was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with head and upper body trauma. Police said he remained there in life-threatening condition as of January 31.
An RPD investigator saw Beaman, 22, and Mustgray, 33, leaving a store together on Portland Avenue Tuesday. They were arrested and charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, and fourth-degree grand larceny.
Both were taken to the Monroe County Jail ahead of their arraignments.
