Aneira Health, a British medtech company, has partnered with Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London and will use its precision medicine-based platform to improve the healthcare of female staff.

Aneira was founded in 2024 to try and address concerns about the lack of research, funding, and focus on women’s health that has caused problems for many years.

“Women’s health has long been overlooked, underfunded, and under-researched. Misdiagnosis, long waiting lists and one-size-fits-all approaches leave millions of women in the U.K. without the care they need and deserve,” writes the company on its website.

The company’s approach starts with personalized health assessments, which include genetic analysis, hormone testing, blood tests and other assessments. Artificial intelligence is then used to analyze test results, help with diagnoses and offer a personalized health plan.

The company is also partnering with healthcare providers to include comprehensive health services to those enrolled in its plans including preventive health screening, gynecological care, contraception and fertility support, and care for long-term conditions such as endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome.

The recent partnership with Guy’s and St Thomas’ will allow 1000 female members of staff access to Aneira’s healthcare platform and services. As this group will be the first to experience this service, the company plans to closely assess efficacy and gather feedback from participating members of staff to further improve its offering.

The company was co-founded by Chris Wigley, former CEO of Genomics England and now Aneira’s CEO, and Cecilia Lindgren, PhD, geneticist and director of the Oxford Big Data Institute, specializing in women’s health and genomics.

In addition to providing a clinical service to women, the company also plans to carry out research in areas of unmet need such as painful periods and symptoms of the menopause, among others.

The company has opened a clinic in London and cis women, trans women, and non-binary individuals aged 18 years or older in the U.K. who can reach the London clinic for an initial assessment are eligible to sign up to the digital first health plans offered by Aneira.
