Context:
The AWSN was formed last November by Goldberg and Philippines-based streaming media platform Jungo TV and is available in at least 65 countries. Goldberg said at the time that launching the network had been a long-held ambition for her, with the goal of showcasing and celebrating women’s sports.
As well as offering live games, the network shows delayed games and highlights show, including Women’s Football Weekly, which covers highlights from England’s Women’s Championship, France’s Division I Féminine and Germany’s Frauen Bundesliga.
Comment:
“I’m excited to see AWSN grow and reach audiences across the U.S. and new global markets through Pluto TV,” said Goldberg. “For far too long, incredible women athletes have been competing at the highest levels without the recognition they deserve.
“AWSN is here to change that. It’s not just a network—it’s a platform that turns visibility into opportunity, where ambition and performance take center stage, and where young girls and women can see themselves reflected in the power and potential of elite competition.”
Coming next:
The AWSN will show the AUSL game between the Talons and the Blaze live on 13th June.
