Shedeur Sanders’ true feelings on NFL Draft slide clear in Cam Ward snub

Shedeur Sanders’ true feelings on NFL Draft slide clear in Cam Ward snub. Sanders shot down Cam Ward’s request for a jersey swap after the rookie signal-caller insisted that he needed to keep his new threads to sell it. After falling out of the first round and losing out on millions of dollars, Sanders was finally drafted by the Browns in the fifth round with the No. 144 overall pick. Sanders asserted that he has no interest in buying the number off veteran wide receiver DeAndre Carter’s back, telling reporters at rookie minicamp: “I’m not trying to buy anything. My signing bonus ain’t that high right now.” For now, Sanders’ main focus is centered around blocking out the critics and playing to the best of his ability. “My job here is not to prove myself right, and I fully have self belief,” he said.

Shedeur Sanders is looking to save money any way he can after losing out on millions of dollars due to his unprecedented slide in the 2025 NFL Draft.

After falling out of the first round and losing out on millions of dollars, Sanders was finally drafted by the Browns in the fifth round with the No. 144 overall pick. His fall down the board sparked a flurry of strong responses, as Travis Kelce blasted the coverage surrounding the signal-caller while President Donald Trump directed his anger towards team owners.

Upon arriving in Cleveland for Browns rookie minicamp, Sanders was forced to settle for a new jersey number rather than purchase his signature No. 2 from a teammate.

It appears as though fans and players alike are already lining up to acquire Sanders’ new threads. During Friday’s ‘Jersey Reveal’ — an event organized by Fanatics and the NFLPA in Los Angeles — Titans’ Cam Ward tried to conduct a jersey swap with his fellow quarterback and close friend.

In one now-viral video, Ward can be seen approaching Sanders and asking for his Browns No. 12 jersey. “Nah, I need that one, my boy,” the Colorado product replied.

Ward wasn’t willing to take no for an answer, stating: “We can switch. This is our first jersey swap. Come on bro, this the first one!”

Yet Sanders was not willing to budge, joking that he needed to sell the jersey in order to bring in more revenue. “I gotta sell it bruh, I gotta have some type of money, you feel me?” he said. “S—, I’m already down.”

In a separate clip, Sanders revealed that he’d be officially committing to the No. 12 — thereby changing the nickname he often went by in college. “Don’t call me 2 anymore, call me 12. If you call me 2 now you’re disrespecting me,” he declared.

On the Browns’ current roster, the No. 2 belongs to veteran wide receiver DeAndre Carter, who’s spent eight seasons in the NFL with the 2025 campaign marking his first in Cleveland.

Sanders asserted that he has no interest in buying the number off Carter’s back, telling reporters at rookie minicamp: “I’m not trying to buy anything. My signing bonus ain’t that high right now.”

For now, Sanders’ main focus is centered around blocking out the critics and playing to the best of his ability. “My job here is not to prove people wrong. I want to prove myself right, and I fully have self belief,” he said.

“Whatever people say, that is their opinion… I don’t truly care – they don’t live in my mental space.”

Ward, for one, believes that Sanders has what it takes to succeed at the professional level. “I’ve created a special relationship with him — he’s a good quarterback. He doesn’t get a lot of the credit he deserves,” Ward said.

“Especially the plays that he made at Colorado; a lot of quarterbacks in the country aren’t making those plays.”

Belichick, who took over as Mack Brown’s successor at Chapel Hill earlier this year, has already made waves in the program. His tenure with the Tar Heels has been tinged with controversy, particularly due to his relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, which has sparked considerable debate given their 49-year age difference.

South Africa’s record at Lord’s since 1991 shows five wins, one loss, and one draw. Australia has secured 18 victories in 40 matches at the historic venue. Despite the impressive numbers, Bangar believes neither team will have an advantage over the other in the upcoming championship match.

“I don’t go by statistics and what has happened in the past. The thing is that there are multiple players, and a generation of players has now changed.

There were the likes of Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers and Faf du Plessis at one time. But now there is a new generation of South African cricketers. For them, it could be a part of the folklore, but if they have to win, they have to play good cricket. In sports, past history and records don’t mean anything,” JioStar expert Sanjay Bangar told ANI in a media conference on the eve of the ICC World Test Championship Final 2025.

Poll Which team do you believe has the edge in the World Test Championship final at Lord’s? South Africa Australia

“If you can go out and try to play your best cricket, ensure that most of your players perform on the given day. If the majority of your players are performing, then you place yourself in the best possible chance to win on that particular day. Both these teams, despite the very strong legacy that they have at this particular venue, they still can’t take anything for granted and have to play their best cricket on the day,” he added.

Bangar’s comments highlight the importance of current performance over historical achievements, noting that team composition has evolved significantly over the years, particularly for the Proteas.

Patrick Mahomes issues one-word verdict on Shedeur Sanders’ slide. Sanders was passed on for the first three rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft. Kansas City Chiefs star Mahomes took to social media to express his shock. ESPN’s Adam Schefter attributed lack of interest to poor interviews and differing team preferences. Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban attributed slide to his spotty offensive line at Colorado, as well as the negative rumors that’ve swirled over him throughout the draft process. He added: “People start talking & behind the scenes they create a reputation for somebody that may not even be what their reputation is but everybody starts agreeing. And everybody starts believing it.”I don’t think you should do that. You should look at what you see in a guy.”

Patrick Mahomes struggled to wrap his head around Shedeur Sanders’ slide in the 2025 NFL Draft after multiple quarterbacks were selected ahead of the Colorado product.

After falling out of the first round and losing out on millions of dollars, Sanders’ humiliating draft experience went from bad to worse once no teams opted to select him in the second or third rounds. To add insult to injury, five fellow signal-callers heard their names called before him.

With the No. 1 overall pick, the Tennessee Titans selected Cam Ward and gave him permission to wear Warren Moon’s jersey number. 24 picks later, the New York Giants traded back into the first round with the Houston Texans to draft Jaxson Dart, who will be able to learn behind starter Russell Wilson.

NFL star refused to play for team after Draft following request not to be picked READ MORE:

Tyler Shough stood as the sole signal-caller selected in the second round with the New Orleans Saints acquiring his talents at pick No. 40 – but it was his wife and dog who ultimately stole the show. Jalen Milroe was later scooped up in the third round by the Seattle Seahawks at No. 92, while Dillon Gabriel was picked by the Cleveland Browns at No. 94 – marking the fifth quarterback taken off the board.

Taking to social media, Mahomes said what everyone was thinking watching Sanders remain undrafted – as the Kansas City Chiefs star bluntly wrote: “Crazy.”

Mahomes was far from the only player or pundit who expressed their shock upon witnessing Sanders fall further down the draft board. ESPN’s Adam Schefter attributed that lack of interest in the 23-year-old to several factors including poor interviews and differing team preferences.

“We’ve got an unprecedented slide, and everybody’s trying to figure out exactly how this can be,” Schefter began. “And all we can say is what we’re hearing. We’re hearing Shedeur didn’t interview well. We’re hearing that teams have different preferences. But it’s still hard to imagine, it’s inconceivable.

“The Seattle Seahawks used the pick that they got back from the Raiders for Geno Smith on Jalen Milroe. The Browns have gone for Dillon Gabriel. In what universe did anybody ever expect Dillon Gabriel to go ahead and Shedeur Sanders?”

Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban, meanwhile, attributed Sanders’ slide to his spotty offensive line at Colorado, as well as the negative rumors that’ve swirled over him throughout the draft process. “He played with not so good offensive line, so therefore he became a scrambler, which was not his forte, and he made some mistakes and took too many sacks,” Saban said.

Addressing the negative image that Sanders has garnered around the league, the 73-year-old added: “People start talking & behind the scenes they create a reputation for somebody that may not even be what their reputation is but everybody starts agreeing. And everybody starts believing it.

“I don’t think you should do that. You should look at what you see in a guy.”

Travis Kelce Turns Heads With Blunt Message for Chiefs Coach

Travis Kelce Turns Heads With Blunt Message for Chiefs Coach. Chiefs star Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, switched things up for the most recent episode of their highly popular “New Heights” podcast. For this week’s show, their guest was not a big-name celebrity. Instead, they brought in Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, who, to be fair, is a celebrity in his own right. The veteran coach’s popularity, however, just pales in comparison to recent ” new Heights” guests such as Shaquille O’Neal, Wayne Gretzky and Ben Affleck, to name a few.”I’m not in the NFL if it’s not for Andy Reid,” SpagnUolo said on the podcast.

For this week’s show, their guest was not a big-name celebrity. Instead, they brought in Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, who, to be fair, is a celebrity in his own right. The veteran coach’s popularity, however, just pales in comparison to recent “New Heights” guests such as Shaquille O’Neal, Wayne Gretzky and Ben Affleck, to name a few.

Be that as it may, the Kelce brothers still had an excellent conversation with Spagnuolo, as they talked about a variety of topics under the sun. Naturally, they covered Spagnuolo’s role with the Chiefs, including how the 65-year-old coach got his start in the NFL.

Spagnuolo revealed how his long-standing relationship with head coach Andy Reid led to the former’s first stint in the NFL.

In 1999, Reid hired Spagnuolo to be part of his defensive staff with the Philadelphia Eagles. They reunited again in Kansas City when Reid called on Spagnuolo to be the team’s defensive coordinator in 2019.

Spagnuolo acknowledged the major role Reid has played in his coaching career.

“I owe him,” Spagnuolo said on the podcast. “I’m not in the NFL if it’s not for Andy Reid.”

Kelce quickly responded by crediting Spagnuolo for his massive role in the team’s success.

“He doesn’t have three rings without you either, big guy,” Kelce said.

Reid may be the head of the snake, but there’s no denying that Spagnuolo has been pivotal to Kansas City’s success through the years. As Kelce declared, the Chiefs would not have won three Super Bowls had it not been for Spagnuolo.

Kelce’s exchange with the Chiefs’ DC quickly drew the attention of fans on social media.

“Chiefs Kingdom! ❤️💛” a comment on Instagram read.

“Team work makes the dream work🔥” said another.

“Spags is all class,” a user stated.

“I love Spags and even more after this interview. He’s a true educator – so good,” a reaction read.

“Thought I couldn’t love Spags more, but I’m happy to have been proven wrong,” another said.

“humble guy! love that,” a fan wrote.

The Chiefs would have added a fourth title to their trophy cabinet this year had it not been for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kansas City will be looking to make things right this coming season, and Spagnuolo is expected to play a key role in the same.
