Colin Jost has been around plenty of celebrities over the course of his run with ” Saturday Night Live .” That being said, there’s one in particular that he was nervous to be around. In honor of the show’s 50th season, “Saturday Night Live” brought back a ton of A-list celebrities. That left cast members like Jost with the responsibility of coming up with a hilarious sketch for them. “I found it much more stressful because you didn’t want to let down people who are legends,” Jost told Variety . “There was so much more lead time, but just like our regular show, I’d say 90% of it got written in the week leading up to it. So, it was stressful for six months for everyone.” Jost couldn’t help but feel that pressure while writing the “Scared Straight” sketch that featured Will Ferrell, Eddie Murphy and Jason Sudeikis. In fact, Jost admit that he was “most nervous” creating a role for Murphy. “That is who I was most nervous to write for: Eddie Murphy,” Jost said. “So, someone not talking, you read all your worst fears into that person, so when I first presented him with the sketch, he was like, ‘I think it’s funny.’ I was waiting for, ‘But I’m not gonna do it.'” Luckily for Jost, the “Scared Straight” sketch was a huge hit with NBC’s audience. And as you’d expect, Murphy aced his return to “Saturday Night Live.”
