The latest wave of protests against President Donald Trump took place across the weekend, including during his 79th birthday celebrations on Saturday (14 June), and was branded the “No Kings” protest.
In various cities nationwide, participants rallied against Trump’s presidential agenda, including his aggressive anti-immigration and mass deportation policies. Protestors marched across the nation to condemn what organisers have claimed is an “authoritarian” level of overreach by the president since his inauguration in January.
The “No-Kings” campaign, a coast-to-coast movement, opposed the use of taxpayers’ dollars for a “self-aggrandising” military parade. Trump’s event had an expected cost of up to $45 million (£33 million), as per the Economic Times.
The protests drew crowds of at least 4 million, whilst Trump’s military birthday parade garnered just 250,000 people, reports suggest.

Ayo Edebiri
Queer icon Edebiri took to her Instagram story over the weekend to solidify her stance on the Trump administration, sharing two images of protest signs seemingly from one of the marches.
“I love you and I have your back! Stay brave,” one caption read, while a a second read: “History is screaming. Are you listening?”
Bob the Drag Queen

The Drag Race icon also appeared to be in attendance at a rally and shared a Story of the crowd which was captioned: “Straight facts.”

Queer Eye star and fierce LGBTQ+ advocate JVN shared their involvement at the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma march in an Instagram reel.
“Oklahoma City. No Kings March 2025,” they captioned the video, which showcased themselves and fellow protesters.
Natasha Rothwell
Actress Rothwell posted an image of herself on Instagram at the “No Kings” protest holding a “Trump YOU ARE TRASH” sign.
She had previously posted about the mass protest, telling her followers: “See you in the streets.”

Taking to her Instagram story on Friday (13 June), the “Good 4 You” hitmaker addressed the ongoing mass ICE deportations in LA.
“LA simply wouldn’t exist without immigrants. Treating hardworking community members with such little respect, empathy, and due process is awful,” she wrote. “I stand with the beautiful, diverse community of Los Angeles and with immigrants all across America. I stand for our right to freedom of speech and freedom to protest.”
Rodrigo then added a second image of a crowd of protesters which appeared to be taken during one of the “No Kings” marches. The sign in front of her read “NO KINGS in our USA.”

Marvel’s own Ruffalo also took to a “No Kings” protest in New York on Saturday (14 June) where he likened fellow anti-Trump protesters to “the Avengers” during a heartfelt speech.
“Being brave for what we hold dear — our freedoms, our democracy, and each other — it’s on us, guys. Literally, together, we’re the Avengers now. No one’s gonna come and save us, man. Americans unite.”
Jimmy Kimmel
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! talk show host also showed up for his beliefs in South Bay, California, calling the protest “huge, inspiring and peaceful”.
“I met many people who love this country and still believe it to be a force for good,” he wrote on Instagram. “I am grateful to see so many Americans take action to stand up for our friends and neighbors, most of all, my parents. I know how fortunate I am to have been born into a family that taught me to care about others and that the most important words ever spoken are “Love one another.” It really is as simple as that. #NoKings.”
Kerry Washington
The Scandal actress attended one of the marches, sharing a series of images on Instagram whilst on the front lines.
“#NoKings, just some QUEENS I found marching, speaking up, and fighting for Democracy,” she captioned her post.

Iconic actress and All’s Fair star Glenn Close shared a series of posts on Instagram of her presence at one of the marches.
