The commission approved a contract agreement between the county and East Tennessee Development District for planning services for the county for $12,375. Other business approved was a “pay supplement’ for Veteran’s Affairs employees, this was approved by the legislative affairs and budget and finance committees. A copier agreement for Wynn Elementary School was approved as well.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Contract agreements, county insurance, grant applications and other business items were approved by commissioners at Monday’s meeting of the Campbell County Commission.

Commissioners approved multiple county insurance policy renewals for the upcoming 2025-2026 year including standard insurance coverage for the Campbell County Government with the Local Government Insurance Pool, Standard insurance coverage for the board of education with Tennessee Risk Management Trust, Supplemental Liability Insurance Coverage for the Election Commission with Greenwich Insurance Company, Cyber Insurance Coverage for Campbell County Government with the Cowbell Cyber Risk Insurance, Medical insurance for CC government employees with Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Life insurance for CC government employees with USAble and dental and vision with Ameritas.

According to Commissioner Rusty Orick, the cyber insurance came in at $1,600 less than last year.

Other agenda items approved include a three-year renewal extension agreement with Scott Solid Waste for continuing the use of Scott County’s Landfill facility with the renewal term to begin July 1, 2025, and to end on June 30, 2028, at the rate of $28.36 per ton through the period of July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.

The commission approved a contract agreement between the county and East Tennessee Development District for planning services for the county for $12,375.

Other business approved was a “pay supplement” for Veteran’s Affairs employees, this was approved by the legislative affairs and budget and finance committees. The pay supplement is for workload related to workforce and economic development and will come out of the 119 fund.

A copier agreement for Wynn Elementary School was approved as well.

Also approved was for the county mayor’s office to apply for a $47,700 litter grant, and for the sanitation department to apply for two grants. One is a convenience center grant, and the other is an oil recycling grant, according to commissioner David Adkins who is also the sanitation director.

Also approved were transfer station drawings with MBI Companies Inc. (MBI), as well as storage building construction drawings with MBI. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-06/17/2025-6AM)
