Karen Read supporters gather outside courthouse, cheering after verdict
Many gathered outside Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham, Massachusetts, ahead of the verdict. Prosecutors alleged Read hit O’Keefe with her SUV in January 2022. Her defense argued she was a victim of a law enforcement cover-up. “I’m overwhelmed and I’m overjoyed, because when the police investigate themselves, this sort of injustice happens. And today, she has prevailed,” said one supporter. “We’ve been waiting two, three years for this, and finally justice has prevailed. It’s a great feeling,” said another supporter.
