RANT to those who use wood firepits in urban/suburban neighborhoods where people who don’t have air conditioning are trying to cool their houses by leaving windows open at night. My house and its contents now reek of wood smoke. Please, no.

RAVE to all of the good Samaritans who came to my aid when I fell flat on my face at the Ravenna Park Bridge on June 7. They helped me to my feet, and although they couldn’t drive me to the emergency room, I found a dog walker who called 911. Thanks also to all the caring ER doctors, nurses and techs at the University of Washington Medical Center — Montlake ER. You all made a bad day less stressful. Blessings, all!
