Traffic diversion in Noida, Greater Noida ahead of Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s visit

The theme of the two-day conference is ‘Envisioning Future Higher Education: India’s Crucial Role’ Around 300 vice-chancellors will attend the event in person, with an additional 200 scheduled to participate digitally. The governor is scheduled to attend activities at APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (Sector 62) and GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management.

Traffic movement will be disrupted on major roads in Noida and Greater Noida on Monday as Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel will attend academic events in the city.In a post on X, the Noida Police said that restrictions will be enforced on critical roads to ensure dignitaries’ smooth travel. The limitations will also be temporarily imposed on Tuesday, June 24, due to VVIP movements.“The general public is hereby informed that on June 23, 2025, a VVIP movement/visit is scheduled in the Noida and Greater Noida areas under the Commissionerate of Gautam Buddh Nagar.“In view of VVIP security and protocol, the movement of heavy, medium, and light goods vehicles on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will be restricted from 7:00 am until the conclusion of the VVIP event on the same day,” the Noida Traffic Police said.According to traffic authorities, traffic on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Sector 62 to Sector 18 elevated route, will be temporarily halted during visiting dignitaries’ convoys. Officials recommended that commuters avoid certain routes and take alternate routes to avoid annoyance.Lakhan Singh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Noida, told Hindustan Times, “To facilitate this, there will be traffic restrictions during VIP movement on the Noida Expressway, DND Flyway, and nearby areas.”During the visit, traffic regulations or short-term diversions will be enforced at these locations: Sector 62, Sector 60 Underpass Chowk, Elevated Road, Sector 18, Sector 37, Sector 44 Roundabout, Charkha Roundabout, Mayur School Roundabout Sector 126, Noida-Greater Noida Expressway at Chilla/DND, Film City, Mahamaya Flyover, Galgotia Cut, Expomart Roundabout, Pari Chowk, IFS Villa Roundabout, and Sharda Roundabout.It also mentioned that the movement of heavy, medium, and light goods vehicles on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will be restricted from 7:00 am until the conclusion of the VVIP event.Today, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will inaugurate the annual meeting of the Association of Indian Universities as well as the national conference of vice-chancellors at Amity University.The theme of the two-day conference is ‘Envisioning Future Higher Education: India’s Crucial Role’.Around 300 vice-chancellors will attend the event in person, with an additional 200 scheduled to participate digitally.Governor Anandiben Patel’s agenda includes visits to many institutions. On Monday, the governor is scheduled to attend activities at APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (Sector 62) and GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management.On Tuesday, the Governor will attend the national vice-chancellors’ conference at Amit University. Traffic restrictions will be implemented on June 24 as well.The city traffic police have asked commuters to choose alternate routes on the two days (Monday and Tuesday, June 23 and 24) in view of VVIP movements and to reduce inconvenience. Furthermore, a special helpline number has been announced to handle traffic-related inquiries.
