According to officials from Delhi Fire Services (DFS), the call regarding the blaze was received at 8.47pm. “Within minutes, 24 fire tenders and around 150 firefighters were sent to the site in an effort to control the flames. The fire had quickly engulfed the entire structure, a large banquet hall located opposite the DLF complex in Moti Nagar,” a DFS official said.
“The building is massive and consists of a ground floor and four upper floors.
By the time our teams arrived, the fire had spread across all levels of the banquet,” the official added.
While the flames were brought under control, cooling operations continued late into the night to prevent any flare-ups. Firefighters remained on the scene, dousing hot spots and checking for any remaining members within the building’s charred framework.
