Military campaign against Iran not over – IDF
Israel’s military campaign against Iran is not over, Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir said. On June 13, Israel carried out airstrikes against Iran, killing numerous high-ranking military officials. Iran launched a retaliatory strike dubbed “Operation True Promise III,” firing hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones at multiple targets across Israel, including Tel Aviv.
“Israel’s military campaign against Iran is not over, its new phase is ahead, but right now the military’s attention will be directed to military operations in the Gaza Strip,” Eyal Zamir said.
On the morning of June 13, Israel carried out airstrikes against Iran. The attacks killed numerous high-ranking military officials, including Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces General Staff; Hossein Salami, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC); and Gholam Ali Rashid, head of the Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, along with nine nuclear scientists and other senior figures.
That same evening, Iran launched a retaliatory strike dubbed “Operation True Promise III,” firing hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones at multiple targets across Israel, including Tel Aviv. The attacks caused civilian casualties and widespread damage
To note, the US conducted airstrikes targeting three nuclear facilities in Iran on June 22, reportedly causing significant damage.
“We have completed our very successful attack on the three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iranian airspace. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home,” President of the US Donald Trump wrote on the Truth Social social network.
On June 23, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) carried out a missile strike on the U.S. Al-Udeid base in Qatar.
Today, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced that the Israeli government has agreed to a ceasefire with Iran, mediated by US President Donald Trump.
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council also issued a statement, noting that the attacks had stopped.
Airports reopen in Israel – “We are entering a new phase, an important chapter against Tehran is over” say the IDF
Iran has not yet reopened its airspace, according to the news website of the Young Journalists Club. Israel’s main international airport, Ben Gurion, is returning to full operation following the decision by the Home Front Command to lift all restrictions. The Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, warns that the conflict with Tehran is not over and urges continued vigilance. “Now the priority is Gaza, the return of the hostages, and the overthrow of Hamas’ regime,” he said, signaling a transition to a new phase of operations.
Iran has not yet reopened its airspace, according to the news website of the Young Journalists Club, citing statements from a spokesperson for the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
The spokesperson stated that no such decision has been made.
Earlier, the specialized website Flightradar24, which monitors air traffic worldwide, claimed that Iranian airspace, as well as Iraqi airspace, had reopened for international flights to and from Tehran.
Israel’s main international airport, Ben Gurion, is returning to full operation following the decision by the Home Front Command to lift all restrictions, according to the Israel Airports Authority.
“The restrictions on the number of incoming and outgoing flights, as well as the number of passengers on each flight, have been lifted,” the Israel Airports Authority stated. “In addition, restrictions on the arrival of passengers and escorts at the airports have also been lifted.”
Starting tomorrow morning, duty-free shops at the airports will resume operation in accordance with security guidelines and regulations.
The Israel Airports Authority advises the public to follow airline announcements and stay informed on the latest updates regarding flight schedules.
IDF Chief: An important chapter against Iran has ended, but the campaign continues
While the fragile ceasefire with Iran, which came into effect today, remains in place, the Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi (note: in Greek, the article referred to Eyal Zamir, who was previously Deputy Chief of Staff – if this refers to a recent development, assume name alignment), warns that the conflict with Tehran is not over and urges continued vigilance.
“Despite the significant achievement, we must keep our feet on the ground. Many challenges lie ahead. We must stay focused; there is no time for complacency,” said Zamir during an operational assessment, according to excerpts released by the Israeli armed forces.
The Israeli general emphasized that although a major chapter in the military confrontation with Iran has concluded, the campaign is not over. “We are entering a new phase, based on the achievements of the current operation. We have delayed Iran’s nuclear program by years, and the same goes for its missile program,” he said pointedly.
Israel’s focus now shifts back to the Gaza Strip, with Zamir stating that the next strategic priority is the return of the hostages and the dismantling of Hamas’ rule.
“Now the priority is Gaza, the return of the hostages, and the overthrow of Hamas’ regime,” he said, signaling a transition to a new phase of operations following recent developments on the Iranian front.

“As of today (Tuesday) at 8 pm, immediate changes will be made to the Home Front Command’s defensive guidelines. As part of the changes, all areas of the country will shift to full activity without restriction,” HFC said in a statement.
Communities in the Gaza Envelope, however, must restrict gatherings to a maximum of 2,000 people, per IDF Southern Command guidelines.
The changes are in effect until Thursday, June 26th, 2025, at 8 pm, when another determination will take place.
Preschools, kindergartens and elementary schools will resume classes on Wednesday morning, to the relief of Israeli parents across the country — except in Be’er Sheva, where four residents lost their lives when an Iranian ballistic missile struck a seven-story building Tuesday morning, shortly before the ceasefire with Iran took hold.
“The public is required to follow the guidelines published on the official Home Front Command channels,” HFC said. “Full guidelines will be updated on the National Emergency Portal and the Home Front Command app.”
Following the announcement, the Temple Mount ‘Beyadenu’ organization announced the Temple Mount site will reopen Wednesday morning from 7 am to 11:30 am, and in the afternoon from 1:30 pm to 3:15 pm. “Our tour guides will be waiting for you at the entrance,” the organization said.
But despite the relaxation of the restrictions, the military remains watchful.
Speaking at a briefing Tuesday evening, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir cautioned, “We have concluded a significant phase, but the campaign against Iran is not over. We are entering a new phase based on the achievements of the current one.”
Zamir noted that Israeli forces set Iran’s nuclear project — and its ballistic missile program — back by years.
Nevertheless, he said, “Despite the phenomenal achievements, we must remain grounded. Many challenges lie ahead. We must remain focused, there is no time to rest on our laurels. Now the focus shifts back to Gaza — to bring the hostages home and to dismantle the Hamas regime.”

The FBI is reassigning some agents who focus on national security back to their old jobs. The move is related to the possibility of Iranian retaliation for the recent U.S. military strike.
Don Holstead, assistant director for the FBI’s counterterrorism division, issued guidance over the weekend reassigning agents who work on counterterrorism, counterintelligence and cyber issues, but had been sidetracked to immigration duties, two people said.
All four sources said the move was related to the possibility of Iranian retaliation for the recent U.S. military strike. NBC News has reported that Iran threatened American officials that they could unleash so-called sleeper cells inside the United States.
