New Myrtle Beach health facilities aim to combine emergency, urgent care services
Tideland’s Health is expanding its access in Horry County with integrated emergency departments, urgent care centers and primary care offices. Tidelands Health is collaborating with Intuitive Health, a Texas-based medical group that specializes in emergency and urgent care. The facilities will be open 24/7, and have a full-service emergency department featuring on-site laboratory and imaging services.
Tidelands Health is collaborating with Intuitive Health, a Texas-based medical group that specializes in emergency and urgent care, to build three integrated ER and urgent care facilities in Horry County, and each facility will have a Tidelands Health family medicine office.
President and CEO of Tidelands Health, Bruce Bailey, said the goal is to provide patients with the proper care.
“I think this will be one of the first initiatives that combine the two ideas together in one location. We think this will be very convenient and easy for a patient,” Bailey said.
Bailey said getting patients the proper care will save resources and save patients from paying for an ER visit when they really just needed to go to urgent care.
Ken Lane lives in a neighborhood near where the facility will be built. He said he is very excited about this new facility and is happy it’s so close to where he lives.

“Most people who come down here are transplants like us, and we are all elderly, and things start happening, and it’s a great idea to have something right here,” Lane explained.
Construction on this first ER and urgent care center will begin later this year near the intersection of Forestbrook Road and Forest Edge Drive in Myrtle Beach.
The other locations are planned for River Oaks Boulevard in Myrtle Beach and along Highway 501 in Conway.
Officials said the facilities will be open 24/7, and have a full-service emergency department featuring on-site laboratory and imaging services and an urgent-care center.
In a release by Tidelands Health, they said the integrated ER and urgent care model is becoming increasingly popular nationwide, as they simplify patient decision-making.
