Grand Island Police Department advises no travel due to flooding
Grand Island Police Department asks residents to stay at home as travel is not advised. Many counties in Central Nebraska from Dundy to Seward have a Flood Watch or Warnings in effect. The U.S. National Weather Service also reports life threatening flash flooding in Grand Island.
“Our officers are unable to access many stranded vehicles at this time,” the post read.

GIPD announced the closure of the Eddy Street and Sycamore Street underpasses earlier Wednesday night.
The U.S. National Weather Service Hastings Nebraska Facebook page also reporting life threatening flash flooding in Grand Island at 12:11 a.m.
