GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – The Grand Island Police Department stated on their X page for residents to stay at home as travel is not advised as of 11:37 p.m. Wednesday night.

“Our officers are unable to access many stranded vehicles at this time,” the post read.

GIPD announced the closure of the Eddy Street and Sycamore Street underpasses earlier Wednesday night.

The U.S. National Weather Service Hastings Nebraska Facebook page also reporting life threatening flash flooding in Grand Island at 12:11 a.m.
