Ranchi: Reiterating his tirade against the ruling INDIA bloc govt here, Union textile minister Giriraj Singh on Thursday said the chief minister Hemant Soren-led state dispensation was playing a “dangerous game” through its “appeasement politics” which is more lethal than the Emergency. Congress hit back at the Union minister shortly after, saying he has a habit of “spewing venom” to divide the country and the communities.Talking to the media here, the minister said, “Due to its lust to stay in power, the Hemant Soren govt is playing a game more dangerous than the Emergency, which was imposed by JMM’s ally, Congress 50 years ago.”He further said, “Indira Gandhi’s Emergency in the country led to the murder of democracy then. Today, Rahul Gandhi roams around with a book, saying he is going to save the Constitution. It’s a mockery by the Gandhi family. Congress should instead hold apology rallies on June 25 every year to mark the Emergency’s anniversary.”Singh added, “The situation here is more terrifying than the Emergency. Jharkhand is becoming a state of ‘Jamai Tola’ as Bangladeshi infiltrators are the given red carpet welcome irrespective of the dip in the tribal population.”Reacting to his statements, state Congress’s chief spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo said, “Rather than spreading misinformation here, he (Singh) should ask the PM and the Union home minister why they have failed to contain infiltration in the country.” RJD, too, came out in defence of the INDIA bloc and dubbed Singh as a “failed” minister. State RJD general secretary Kailash Yadav said, “Singh is a victim of mental slavery and has been a failed minister. “Earlier on Wednesday, JMM criticised the BJP-led govt in the Centre, saying there was an “undeclared emergency in the country since 2014”. Notably, the BJP has stepped up its attack against Congress over the 50th anniversary of the Emergency across the country.
