LOS ANGELES – Burglars broke into Brad Pitt’s Los Angeles home on June 26, ransacking the property and fleeing with stolen items while the Oscar-winning actor was traveling to promote his new racing thriller F1, US media reported.
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told NBC News that a break-in took place at a residence in the Los Feliz neighborhood around 10.30 pm (1.30pm on Friday in Singapore), without officially confirming who owned the home.
Police sources told NBC News and the Los Angeles Times that three suspects climbed over a front fence and broke in through the home’s front window before ransacking the location and fleeing with some belongings.
The value of the stolen items has not been disclosed.
Pitt was not home at the time, as he has been on a global promotional tour for his new movie F1.
The 61-year-old actor attended the film’s premiere in London this week.
The property was purchased by Pitt in 2023 for US$5.5 million (S$7 million), according to Variety magazine.
Pitt is the among the most recent celebrities to have their Los Angeles homes burglarised.
About US$500,000 of jewelry was allegedly stolen from the home of French striker Olivier Giroud of MLS side Los Angeles FC in a burglary in February.

Burglars broke into Brad Pitt’s Los Angeles residence on Thursday night, ransacking the property and fleeing with stolen items. The actor was away promoting his new racing thriller F1, according to US media reports. This follows recent burglaries at other celebrity homes in the area, including those of Olivier Giroud and Nicole Kidman. Pitt purchased the Los Feliz home in April 2023 for $5.5 million.
Los Angeles: Burglars broke into Brad Pitt’s Los Angeles residence on Thursday night, ransacking the property and fleeing with stolen items while the Oscar-winning actor was away promoting his new racing thriller F1, according to US media reports.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) told media that a break-in occurred at a home in the Los Feliz neighbourhood at approximately 10:30 pm (5:30 GMT). However, the department did not officially confirm the ownership of the residence.
Suspects climbed fence, entered through window
Police sources informed NBC News and the Los Angeles Times that three suspects scaled the property’s front fence and gained entry by breaking in through a front window. The burglars then ransacked the premises before fleeing with several items. The value of the stolen belongings has not yet been disclosed.
Pitt away on global tour for ‘F1’
Brad Pitt (61), was not at home during the incident. The actor is currently on an international promotional tour for F1, his latest film. He attended the film’s premiere in London earlier this week.
According to commercial real estate website Traded, Pitt purchased the Los Feliz home in April 2023 for $5.5 million.
Part of a string of celebrity home burglaries
Pitt is the latest in a growing list of celebrities whose homes have been targeted by burglars in Los Angeles.
In February, approximately $500,000 worth of jewellery was allegedly stolen from the home of French footballer Olivier Giroud, who plays for Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles FC.
That same month, the residence of actress Nicole Kidman and singer Keith Urban was also reportedly burglarised.

On June 25, 2025, there was a burglary incident at Fight Club actor Brad Pitt’s house in Los Angeles. According to a report by People Magazine, the robbery took place at 10:30 p.m. His house is located in Los Angeles’s Los Feliz neighborhood.
Three suspects have been identified from the incident. The actor was not in the house when the break-in happened. Per the police, after illegally entering his house, the suspects
“Ransacked the location, then fled the location with miscellaneous property.”

Meanwhile, this news comes amidst a wave of other burglaries that took place at celebrity houses this year. These burglaries mostly happened when the people were away.
According to NBC Los Angeles, LAPD officials went over the other residences in the area to access security camera footage of the incident. The security cameras at Brad Pitt’s house showed the alleged suspects smashing a window to enter the house.
However, the LAPD noted that this year, the number of residential burglaries has come down compared to last year. Most of the reported burglaries in celebrities’ houses from earlier this year are yet to be solved. Brad Pitt recently appeared on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast. Reflecting on his time in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), he shared that when he first began his sobriety journey, he joined AA and found it to be a powerful experience.
He was moved by how openly the men there talked about their struggles, mistakes, and emotions, often using humor to cope. Coming from a place where people usually kept things bottled up, it felt like a meaningful change for him.
However, after mentioning this publicly in an old interview, he was later scolded by someone more senior in the program for breaking the rule of anonymity. Brad Pitt also said:
“You know, I was pretty much on my back you know, on my knees and I was really open to. I was trying anything and everyone anything anyone threw at me. It was a particular difficult time. I need rebooting. I needed to wake the f*ck up in some areas and it meant it just meant a lot to me.”
Brad Pitt recalled that when he first joined Alcoholics Anonymous, he felt nervous when he had to share his story. Nonetheless, seeing how open others were made him feel more comfortable and willing to take that step himself.
He said the experience helped him grow, and he came to appreciate being part of the group.
A friend had reassured him it was a safe environment, which helped him trust the process. While he admitted he could be stubborn, once he committed, he took responsibility for his actions and focused on learning from his mistakes so he wouldn’t repeat them.

PEOPLE reported that the suspects broke into the actor’s house in the Los Feliz neighborhood around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25.
Authorities noted that the burglars “broke into the residence via the front window” and ransacked the property. Los Angeles Times reported that Pitt’s possessions were tossed and overturned as the suspects “had gone through looking for what they could take of value.”
The robbers fled with the stolen items, though it’s unclear what exactly was taken. All three suspects are yet to be publicly identified and are reportedly still at large.
Pitt was not home at the time of the burglary. The actor was in London on Monday for the European premiere of “F1: The Movie:”.

In other news, Pitt’s latest film, “F1,” is already making rounds ahead of its premiere on June 27. Speaking with PEOPLE, director Joseph Kosinski reveals Formula One pro Lewis Hamilton was very impressed with the actor’s natural driving talent.
“I had Lewis Hamilton drive with Brad right at the beginning to kind of see his level of skill,” Kosinski revealed. “And Lewis was really impressed that Brad kind of had that talent right out of the gate.”
The director credited Pitt’s years of motorcycle riding, which he said gave him “a feel for the car” in F1.
Kosinski joked that they had to tear Pitt out of the car once filming wrapped.
“The saddest day for Brad was when we said, ‘It’s a wrap,’ and he had to climb out of the car,” the filmmaker added. “He just loved it. [Brad and Damson] both had the best time.”
Pitt, who also serves as a co-producer of the film, stars as retired racer Sonny Hayes, who makes a comeback to Formula One with a fictional team. Damson Idris also stars in “F1” as Sonny’s rookie teammate, Joshua Pierce.
