In August, a driver crashed into the Mother Earth Vitamins and More store on Pleasant Avenue, causing substantial damage.
Following the crash, customers continued to reach out to the owner, Pat Campbell, needing their expertise on vitamins and advice for alternative health treatments.
“I learned how desperate people are for health and knowledge. That’s the reason I chose to come back and stay, because people do need help. They do want, and there’s nothing more rewarding than helping people.”
Campbell says that for eight months, her family and community volunteers assisted her in rebuilding the store.
They officially reopened in April, and their grand reopening was Saturday.
Stacy Kendall, Campbell’s daughter, says many people would probably have retired or given up after experiencing such significant losses.
Kendall mentions that her mom couldn’t abandon it because of the people who rely on her.
“She’s fought so hard to be the person she is for the community, and she knows the community has needed her,” Kendall said.
