Jeff Bezos is officially a married man.

The billionaire founder of Amazon and his fiancee, Lauren Sanchez, tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Naples, Italy. The wedding, which reportedly cost some $40 million, was attended by countless celebrities.

NFL legend Tom Brady, actress Sydney Sweeney, talk show icon Oprah Winfrey and more reportedly attended the lavish wedding in Naples over the weekend.

Bezos reportedly rocked a classic black and white tuxedo for his big day, though according to menswear expert Derek Guy, there was one problem with it. Guy pointed out the issue with Bezos’s wedding suit on X, formerly known as Twitter, over the weekend.

Bezos was wearing the wrong kind of waistcoat for his wedding, according to Guy, who has more than 1.3 million followers on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Amazon founder was apparently wearing a business vest, when he should have been wearing a formal waistcoat.

“Jeff Bezos appears to be wearing the wrong waistcoat for his wedding. This is a dinner suit (aka tuxedo) and thus requires a formal waistcoat, which is cut lower on the body. He’s wearing a business vest, which is designed for business suits. Needs a waistcoat like the right,” Guy shared on X.

He added: “Most wealthy people today don’t use tailors. They shop from luxury brands that may or may not have a custom clothing dept. But such places are rarely benchmade production and I’ve yet to see one produce truly top-end work. To find a good tailor today, you need more than money. You need a bit of knowledge.”

Guy made it clear that he believes Bezos made the wrong choice when it comes to looking his best.

“Some people appear to be upset at the idea that some choices may be better than others. so i will leave it to you: which looks better? a low-cut dress waistcoat with a dinner suit? or a higher cut business vest with a dinner suit? if given a choice, which would you choose?” he shared.

Guy had a blunt message for anyone upset with his criticism, too.

“It’s truly shocking that a man who writes about menswear would comment on the attire of the richest man in the world who has spent tens of millions of dollars to make his wedding a public spectacle,” he said sarcastically.

Bezos, of course, likely doesn’t care about the criticism.

Ahead of the wedding weekend, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom‘s split was announced. After nine years together, the now-exes have gone their separate ways and called off their engagement. They share a daughter, Daisy. What does this have to do with the Bezos and Sánchez wedding? Well, Perry and Bloom are close friends of the couple.

Perry has been one of Sánchez’s longtime pals and celebrated the bride at her bachelorette party in Paris. She and Sánchez were part of Blue Origin’s all-female space launch in April. Bloom has already been spotted in Venice for the wedding, but what about Perry? Here’s the lowdown on the wedding situation.

No, Perry will not be one of the celebrity guests at the Bezos and Sánchez wedding in Venice. The reason behind her absence has nothing to do with her split from Bloom. “She was never going to the wedding,” a source told People. She’s currently on tour, and her dates overlapped with Bezos and Sánchez’s wedding date.

The “Roar” singer is one of Bezos and Sánchez’s most famous pals, so it’s still surprising that she’s not going. In addition to Bloom, stars like Tom Brady, Kim Kardashian, Sydney Sweeney, Oprah Winfrey, and more are partying it up in Italy.

Where is Katy Perry?

The singer is in Australia during the Bezos and Sánchez wedding weekend. She has back-to-back concerts in Adelaide, Australia, on June 26 and June 27 for her Lifetimes Tour. After a day-long break, she has another set of back-to-back shows on June 29 and June 30. She’s been Down Under since early June. In July, Perry will return to the U.S. for another a set of concerts.

The lavish multi-day event drew a star-studded guest list, including Orlando Bloom, Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, and Tom Brady, who all arrived to join the festivities. Bezos and Sánchez officially tied the knot on Friday.

The Amazon founder and his fiancée touched down in Venice on Wednesday, making a grand entrance at the luxurious Aman Hotel via helicopter after cruising through Croatia aboard Bezos’s $500 million mega-yacht, Koru.

While criticism over the high-profile affair lingered, the couple’s extravagant celebration showed no signs of slowing down.

Some stars arrived in style, with sets, dresses, and suits that matched the Venetian vibe in honor of what’s been dubbed “the wedding of the century.” However, others fell short with outfits that missed the mark and stood out for all the wrong reasons.

Protesters denounced the Amazon billionaire’s multimillion-dollar wedding in Venice as the city deals with environmental concerns.

Hundreds of protesters marched through Venice to say “no” to Amazon founder and billionaire Jeff Bezos’s wedding on its third day of a multimillion-dollar celebration.

The world’s fourth-richest man, Bezos, and his bride, Lauren Sanchez Bezos, got married in a private ceremony on Friday with about 200 celebrity guests on the secluded island of San Giorgio.

But before the final party on Saturday evening as part of a three-day wedding event, protesters filled Venice’s central streets and held banners that read “Kisses Yes, Bezos No” and “No Bezos, no War”.

Another poster read: “The planet is burning, but don’t worry, here’s the list of the 27 dresses of Lauren Sanchez.”

For the past few days, residents have protested across the city over what they have said is anger as Venice suffers from over-tourism, high housing costs and the constant threat of climate-induced flooding.

Martina Vergnano, one of the demonstrators, said they were here to “continue ruining the plans of these rich people, who accumulate money by exploiting many other people … while the conditions of this city remain precarious”.

According to the Venetian Environmental Research Association, Bezos donated 1 million euros ($1.17m) each to three environmental research organisations working to preserve Venice.

Flavio Cogo, a resident who also joined Saturday’s protest, said they want a “free Venice, which is finally dedicated to its citizens”.

“Those donations are just a misery and only aimed at clearing Bezos’ conscience,” Cogo said.

Venetian businesses and political leaders welcomed the wedding, despite the protests, and hailed it as a significant economic boost.

Mayor Luigi Brugnaro said those protesting were “in contradiction with the history of Venice, which is a history of relations, contacts and business”.

“Bezos embodies the Venetian mentality. He is more Venetian than the protesters,” said the centre-right mayor, adding that he hoped Bezos would return to the city to do business.

Lauren Sánchez is officially married to Jeff Bezos — and she’s put her wedding gown on full display.

Sánchez shared a first look on her Instagram — after scrubbing her profile and changing her name to include Bezos — shortly before Vogue shared more photos and details from the design process.

The bride opted for a Dolce & Gabbana design, featuring a high neck, long lace sleeves, and 180 silk chiffon-covered priest buttons straight down the center.

Of her inspiration for the look, she told Vogue: “I researched pictures of brides in the 1950s. I wanted to reflect back, and I saw Sophia Loren and her hands were [in a prayer position] and she was in high lace, up to the neck, and I said, ‘That’s it. That’s the dress.’”

She claimed it’s the most covered up she’s ever been across her chest, calling it “a departure from what people expect.”

Bezos wanted to see the gown before the big day.

“I almost gave in!” she told the publication. “But I want it to be a surprise. As you get a little older, not many things surprise you. I can’t wait to see his face.”

Sánchez wanted a “very classic and elegant wedding,” Stefano Gabbana told Vogue.

“She didn’t want to do something very flashing or bling bling.”

While she didn’t wear the 20-carat, $2.5 million pink diamond ring that Bezos proposed with on the big day, the bride did wear Dolce & Gabbana Alta Gioielleria Miracolo earrings — her “something borrowed” — described by Vogue as “four diamonds cut from a single stone and inlaid in white gold.”

Vogue reported that Sánchez had two additional looks for the Friday night celebration, including a sweetheart neck, corseted gown and then an Oscar de la Renta cocktail dress.

Earlier in the day, Sánchez appeared leaving the Aman Hotel ahead of her lavish wedding ceremony clad in a cream, two-piece suit, sunglasses, and a chic headscarf.

It was surely a more subtle look than her Thursday Schiaparelli haute couture welcome dinner dress — and onlookers noticed.

“A look that will truly surprise everyone — completely unexpected, completely different It evokes La Dolce Vita vibes, with echoes of Liz Taylor and Jackie Onassis,” one person wrote on X.

“Well I guess she has since fired her stylist from Trump’s inauguration. This is 10x more appropriate,” someone else said.

“This is a good look for her! She should lean into this type of style,” someone else chimed in.

“Much better than what she wore yesterday,” another shared.

“Wow what a huge improvement,” someone else wrote.
