My Take: A VERY cute walkable wedge with very firm arch support and really pretty woven details A bit heavier than the other options, but fantastic if you want more of a wedge/clog base and still want it walkable.

Pros: The woven design is so pretty; love the way they look with jeans and dresses; nice option if you want a little bit of height, but still want them walkable; very firm arch support (if your feet like that).

Cons: Arch support is actually a little too firm for my feet…they feel more like Vionic’s arch support which is not my personal favorite; a bit heavier than other options; higher heel than others (if you want something flatter).

Dansko Walking Sandals FAQ

Q1. Are Dansko walking sandals true to size? I find Dansko sandals run just a tad big. If you’re between sizes, go down one for the European sizing (e.g., I’m typically a 7 in US sizing and wear a 37 in Dansko sandals). Otherwise, stick with your usual EU size for a comfy-but-secure fit. Q2. Which pair has the most arch support? The Tia (walkable wedge) offers the firmest, highest arch of the bunch. Candace and Cass follow close behind with structured—but not as prominent—under-foot support. If you like a softer feel, try with Janice or Jodie. Q3. Do Dansko sandals work for plantar-fasciitis or heel pain? I have not personally experienced plantar-fasciitis or heel pain, but the Cleveland Clinic notes that sandals with a shaped footbed, real arch support and some heel cushioning are kinder to an inflamed plantar fascia than flat, minimally-supported styles. I have found that Dansko really pays attention to these exact comfort shoe features. Definitely worth asking your medical provider whether these Danskos meet your foot’s needs. Q4. How long is the break-in period? For me… none. The nubuck or suede linings feel soft and comfortable right out of the box. If you’re sensitive, wear them around the house for a bit, but I’m comfortable wearing them right away. Q5. Do Dansko sandals come in wide or narrow sizing? I have only found these five styles offered in a standard (medium) width. That said, the adjustable straps give a bit of wiggle room. I don’t technically need wide sizing in any shoe brand, but I do have a wide-ish foot and all of these Dansko sandals fit me well.
